Unlike recent years when dozens of buntings descended on Horsepen Bayou in late April, I only saw two of these jewel-like birds on this outing. But one of the two was this bright sapphire that spent more than a minute feasting on marsh grass seeds down low in Alligator Alley.
This little pumpkin seedling sprouted far from his brothers and sisters, out in the middle of my yard (could also call this a "volunteer"...which is a self-sown seedling). Of course I put a little fence around it so it could grow to its hearts content :-)
I was thrilled to see the pumpkin seed still attached, almost like seeing the entire birth process.
Please view large! Enjoy your day, my friends!
Etwas ganz banales dieser Eichenkeimling. Im Frühling in der Nähe von Eichen zahlreich zu finden. Den hier habe ich einfach auf eine bemooste Fichtenwurzel gestellt um ihn freistellen zu können.
There are plenty of oak seedlings to be found in spring. Even so, I photographed her for the first time this year. Made during a Fotowalk near Berne.

This is a weird one, it's a view of an art installation at Croome Court inspired by some of the stories connected with the house.

With so many nights of low temperatures it hasn't been easy to keep them protected this spring but so far they are all surviving although they were slow to grow until these last few sunny days.
Thank you so much for sharing your quality photos which is a great way to see and keep some sort of touch with the world from home. Also for your kind comments and favours which are much valued.

I bought this cosmos seedling as part of a cheap six-pack. I need to find some regular dirt to plant it in, as enhanced potting mix may make it grow too bushy, with few flowers. For this photo, it's on my kitchen counter, with a purple sequined backdrop. It set the camera for 70 frames in this focus stack.
