National military service is mandatory for all Israeli citizens over the age of 18, although Arab citizens are exempted if they so wish. Other exceptions may be made on religious, physical or psychological grounds. Men serve three years in the IDF, while women serve two.

Europe, Netherlands, Rotterdam, Museumpark, KunstHal, Reopening, New entrance, Security guards, Public (slightly cut from B, L & T)
Saturday afternoon was the reopening of the KunstHal . It was massively busy, hurray for the Kunsthal ! But it started to rain and we decided not to wait and to walk to the city centre for lunch... but before doing so, being one of the admins of the KunstHal group, I decided to do my documentary duty first ;-)
I'm still busy and will get back to you later - last night I immersed myself in the only part of the program of the International Film Festival Rotterdam where bad taste and blatant exploitation rule: De Nacht van de Wansmaak (The Night of Bad Taste): Check it out: www.nachtvandewansmaak.be. In the words of 'explicateur' Max: Rockatansky "Een ontdekkingstocht door de riolen van de wereldcinema" (A journey through the sewers of world cinema) and "Een hallucinante zoektocht naar de tenenkrommendste momenten uit de filmgeschiedenis" ( A hallucinating quest for the most embarrassing moments in the history of film) . Well put Max, I'm still recovering from the impact ;-)

This security guard is a shift supervisor at the US Bank Tower.
Another guard said his last name is Patrick Silver.
He was in Shawn's face the whole time, backing him up into the street.

Detailed post at All Narfed Up.
It's been a while since I posted one of these. Try and guess which two of the figs are based on movies.
I started to take a photo of the Bank of America which had been closed because of the protest and they told me I wasn't allowed to.
I explained I was on a public sidewalk. One of them gestured to an imaginary
line which they said was the Bank of America's property. Even if that was the case, I was a few feet beyond it.
I started taking some photos and they certainly didn't represent the Bank of America in a very favorable way (ie. like complete assholes). And now these photos are tagged Bank of America and will come up in searches.
I then noticed that red paint had been thrown high up on the window. Still, pretty mild compared to some of the Vietnam era protests against B of A.
