Hotel Security relaxing

Dunes Hotel & Beach Resort - Isla de Margarita.

Zoom if Necessary.

This is the area that Enron developed in Downtown Houston before it imploded. It's now owned by the asses at Chevron that sicked a security guard on me and told me I couldn't take pictures there because they owned the sidewalk. I finally got the security guard to admit that the rules were total BS and that he was just doing his job. Didn't make any difference any way since I already had all the shots I wanted so it wasn't worth the fight. [WARNING] If you use a tripod it's guaranteed to attract security guards anywhere day or night. Yet I could have stood on this corner all day with an iPhone 5 taking 8 megapixel pictures and no one would say a thing. Later on that same day Houston Police asked for and ran my ID while taking pictures of Downtown Houston on the sidewalk of a bridge.

I love the qualities of the stone.

Some cruise ships have sections on the deck made of clear acrylic 'glass' that allow you to look down to the deck below. This security guard was on his knees observing maintenance staff paint and repair rigging above a lifeboat as I happened by.

Netflix are filming “A Castle for Christmas” at Dalmeny House, near Edinburgh

The film, a romantic comedy, is directed by Mary Lambert (‘Pet Sematary’ & ‘The In Crowd’) and stars Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes.

“Hollywood Reporter” states that the storyline of the film ‘follows a famed American author, Sophie, who travels to Scotland and finds herself wanting to buy a castle, but the prickly owner, a Scottish Duke named Myles, is reluctant to sell to a foreigner. Working to find a compromise, the pair constantly butt heads, but along the way they just may find more than they bargained for’.

The guy who runs this place is office head.

The Security Guards at the Prince's Palace in Monaco are members of the Company of the Prince's Carabiniers, responsible for the security of the Palace and the Princely Family, as well as ceremonial duties and maintaining public order. The unit includes about 124 soldiers and is known for the daily ceremonial changing of the Guard, which takes place at 11:55 am in front of the Palace.

Looks like I'll be away again until the end of March. So much work right now that I'm even behind on checking how far behind I am.

London Night Reflection

" I had to be quick to capture this reflection in London Paddington Basin, as the clouds were moving fast and there were a few security guards around...I was actually stopped from taking any more pics soon after this one ;-] They said they had been monitoring me, I guess they were bored that night..."

Paddington Basin is an area of Paddington, London named after the nearby canal basin.

The junction of the Regent's Canal and the Grand Junction Canal is close to this point but the basin itself is the terminus of the Paddington Arm of the Grand Junction Canal. It was opened in 1801. Paddington was chosen because of its position on the New Road which led to the east, providing for onward transport. In its heyday, the basin was a major transshipment facility, and a hive of activity.

A consortium in partnership with British Waterways began work in January 2000 by draining the basin.

The basin is now the centre of a major redevelopment as part of the wider Paddington Waterside scheme and is surrounded by modern buildings. It is the site of The Rolling Bridge, built in 2004.

This is the first in a series of eight shots I took from a bus window while commuting between Manila and the Bulacan Province to the north of Manila. I had a window seat on the right side of the bus and was able to capture some images in traffic. - - - A security guard sits on a small chair outside the gated entrance to a manufacturing plant in Manila, Philippines.
