Baghdad, 12 April 2016 - The Implementation and Follow-up Committee on National Reconciliation in collaboration with UNAMI held a two-day workshop on Women, Peace and Security in Baghdad from 11-12 April 2016.
The workshop; the first of its kind following the re-establishment of the Women’s Office in the Implementation and Follow-up Committee on National Reconciliation was aimed at enhancing the capacity of the Committee in implementing that National Action Plan on Security Council Resolution 1325 and was a follow-up on the implementation of the recommendations on national reconciliation and women’s participation provided during the National Conference on ‘Empowering Women to Address the Impact of Terrorism’, held in Erbil from 03-04 August 2015.
Marwan Ali, Director of Political Affairs and Mohammed Salman, Prime Minister Advisor and Head of the Reconciliation Committee opened the workshop.

China's engagement with matters of peace and security in Africa has recently become more prominent. This can be seen in peacekeeping, peacebuilding, conflict mediation, or the measures adopted at the 6th Forum for China-Africa Cooperation summit in December 2015 to strengthen cooperation on peace and security. These underlined how important these are to China's evolving policy engagement with the African continent, including how security relates to development. These panels will bring together leading academic and policy experts from China and Europe to discuss key themes and issues about China's engagement with peace and security in Africa.

Following on from my decade long project in which I used a different film camera each week, 522 in total, I have relaxed the pace and set myself a monthly camera project each year. My dad was born 100 years ago in 1924, he collected old cameras and died age 91 in 2015. In this centenary year I've decided to use one of his favourite cameras each month. December's camera is a Zeiss Ikon Contina Ia. The film is Kodak Color Plus 200 developed in the Bellini C41 kit.
