Recent family trip took us through Toledo. I took the opportunity to take some pictures of Fifth Third Park where the Mud Hens play. This shot is from just outside the Swamp Shop. The girl working there was nice enough to let me in to take a few pictures as long as I didn't leave this section. It looks like an awesome place to watch a ball game. i hope to get back there soon to see a game.

Santa Monica, CA – One of the many unexplained phenomena here in California is an outdoor smoking pad. One can freely smoke amongst the public just as long as they stay within a designated area the size of a large floor mat. I wonder if the smoke knows to stay within that area.
We have entire cities that ban smoking on public land (sidewalks, parking lots and parks), but this was the first time I have seen a designated area this small. Then again, this is Santa Monica the same city that security nearly mugged me for taking pictures of the pier.
A week in China before heading to Mongolia for some trekking. Our time included three days hiking on the Wall, including on restored and unrestored sections. It was hot, humid and rainy!

Section 70 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, May 4, 2020. This section was part of the cemetery’s 1968 expansion. Section 70, like the others in this part of the cemetery, is far enough away from sections with private markers that it displays the aesthetic that national cemeteries are known for: repeated rows of white, marble headstones. Fig. 200 (p. 261) - A section and plan of the Hagia Sophia (Aya Sophia) in Constantinople (Istanbul, Turkey). The Church was built during the reign of Justinian in the years 532 – 537 AD. Various graphic configurations, like the circle (dome), the (Greek) cross and the square strive for domination in the visual experience of the building.

I think I know who put away our new (in 2017) 3 section Christmas tree last year.
The tradition of placing a Christmas tree only become popular in the Victorian era.
"..,in 1906 a charity was set up specifically to ensure even poor children in London slums 'who had never seen a Christmas tree' would enjoy one that year."
Pretty sure we're playing 'UpThe Junction', an apt tune for an ex railwayman! Taken on my camera by my daughter, Cat.

The middle of Aston Street is blocked off.
Took this for the glass section added to the library at Aston University.
Nice reflection of the university buildings opposite.
While the towers are still up, they can hide the sun, very bright at lunchtime.
The students are back (October 2010), and the 1st years have moved into the new residences (the old ones are blocked off).
