Much better results on the second attempt. I've replaced all the injector O-rings as well as the two on the fuel pressure regulator and that's sorted the leak out. Visually the old ones looked the same with no flat spots but when you cut them off they had no elasticity left.
I ran it for about 25 minutes and brought the engine up to temp. The thermostat opened at ~98 degrees but the fan never cut in at the lower temp. I suspect this is because the top of the rad is not full so the sensor wasn't fully immersed. I'll top it up and try again. I did notice the engine bogged for half a second when manually switching the fan on, not sure what that's all about. Main thing was that none of the coolant hoses were leaking.
My rev counter is still not working but all other gauges seemed ok, oil warning lamp went out straight away as did the charge lamp.
I'll have to fire a question off to the place I bought my gauges from to see if they have any ideas. The pulse signal from the ECU is around 36 Hz when settled into the low idle which is much higher that the 10Hz I'd expect to get from the crank sensor when idling around 600rpm. There is power at the gauge but the only time the needle moves is a wild fluctuation when cranking at start up. Even with the high pulse reading I'd still expect the revs to read off at ~2100rpm rather than no activity at all.

HMS Portland Offers Safe Port in a Storm
HMS Portland has been supplying humanitarian aid to Freeport (population 50) on the South West peninsula of Britanica in the wake of hurricane Eleanor which touched down in the early hours of the 06/11/13 with most of the damage affecting the Bull Point area.
Hurricane Eleanor was classified as a CAT3 hurricane and HMS Portland received a formal request for assistance by the Mayor of Freetown Mr John Bull. HMS Portland had been conducting further operations in the Freetown area when they were contacted.
HMS Portland, is the fastest and most fearless Type 23 frigate in the Royal Navy. HMS Portland is one of the youngest Type 23 frigates in the Royal Navy, having been commissioned on 3 May 2001.
HMS Portland main priorities were survival and sustenance of the mainly elderly population of Bull Point and upon arriving at the site they tried to locate the worst of the casualties and supply much needed fresh water and food for the survivors of the disaster. The Type 23 frigate used all of its assets during the operation including the ship’s mk 8 Lynx helicopter from 426 squadron.
The Bullpoint area was particularly vulnerable due to the tidal surge and HMS Portland’s first duties consisted of moving the non-injured to higher ground. Unfortunately 2 of the villagers did not survive their injuries and died at the scene, one from smoke inhalation and one from exposure.
Commander Sarah West who is the Commanding Officer of HMS Portland quoted as saying “We have devoted all the resources available to help the people of Freeport. Their welfare and safety as well as the safety of our ships company is our utmost priority. The loss of Human life is always tragic especially in such difficult circumstances.”

The smile of that woman in the picture caught my eyes somehow when I first saw it. It is displayed in a window of vintage shop. I paid another visit with my camera few days later to capture the little detail in this display window. Luckily, the image wasn't blurred by my shaky hands or out of focus.
Little River Band is considered to be one of Australia’s most significant bands. Their impressive songwriting skills, powerful vocals, and masterful guitar harmonies immediately helped them claim their place as one of the great vocal bands of the 70s and 80s. Their chart success included “Help Is on Its Way,” “Take It Easy on Me,” “Reminiscing,” “Lonesome Loser,” “Lady,” “Cool Change,” and “The Night Owls.”
Forming in Woodstock, NY in the early 1970s, pop-rockers Orleans enjoyed numerous hits, the best known being “Love Takes Time,” “Dance With Me,” and “Still the One.”

And a second try! I know this is quite different from the one with the tilted horizon since it's in a corner. I would appreciate if you told me which one you like more :-)
Well this is what happens when I'm seriously not sure about my own work. I look at other versions and like them more, then I hate them and then I like them again. Catch-22!
