This photo, taken early on the morning of December 6, 2013, had already accumulated about a quarter of an inch of ice. By the end of December 7 though, there was a half inch coating of ice on most surfaces. There has been lots of damage to trees and power lines, leaving more than 180,000 without power in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area, not to mention numerous accidents on the roadways.

The 38th Machida City Doubles Tennis Tournament was held on last week for 1R through 3R, and today we had quarter-final, semi-final, and final. This year I joined the class-B tournament, and it's been over a year since I joined a tournament before. Our club team was broken up by some reason (no young guy joined the team x_x), my tennis school was closed due to inheritance tax problem, and another school was closed due to serious damage by the massive earthquake. I need to find the next place to play tennis.
Anyway, this tournament was a fresh start for me. We lost the match in the final, but I think it's not too bad. I believe I can do more!

Team members from the Bureau of Land Management, New Mexico, Carlsbad Field Office (CFO) conduct proper functioning condition (PFC's) assessments on the Black to analyze and document changes that are occurring to our riparian areas in the CFO. Activities such as grazing, road encroachment, upstream channelization, augmented flows, flow regulations, oil field water discharge, illegal leaks and spills ect. could all have an impact on these systems. The PFC assessment is used as a way to best manage the impairment. In some cases, we will build erosion control structures, plant woody vegetation, spray for unwanted vegetation like salt cedar. Having the ability to get the wildlife biologists, hydrologist, and range staff in the field together provides a diverse interpretation. Photos by Sherman Hogue, Bureau of Land Management, New Mexico
LSU all-around all-around sophomore Erin Macadaeg flips at the vault event during the Tigers' 196.575-195.100 victory against Kentucky for the Pink & Blue Meet on Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 in the PMAC.
These little ducks swimming made for a good photo opportunity. I purposefully didnt focus on the first duck as they always get the limelight! I wonder what the middle one was thinking about to make him swim out of formation!
Dinner aboard the Mikhail Lermontov, June 1977
We took the Lermontov from New York City to London, where I had a job for the year. It was quite an experience. Took 7 days (which is slow). There were many East Europeans and Russians on the ship, mostly UN or embassy, returning for the summer.
Sadly, the ship sank in the South Pacific in 1986.

Today I found my second stick bug. Approximately in the same environment as the first. If you do not look well you walk these critters under your feet. I think it is a coincidence to see. 2 of these critters. This was a lot smaller. It is very difficult to catch them intact. Especially their legs are so fine. I have done a lot of effort to keep them as good as possible.
