Have made a cardboard and tissue paper lightbox. It's a bit flimsy and the lighting is somewhat chaotic, being a variety of houshold lamps. This picture is a tighter crop of the photo of the complete shell which is in my photostream .

Very few shells on the beach, so liked the look of this one.

My friend showed me this wonderful seashell he had gotten from his grandmother. I was totally mesmerized.

The outer protective layer of sea animals. The empty shells found at the shore are those of the organisms that have died. Photo was taken in Santa Monica Beach, CA.

This is a sandstone seashell fossil that I found near Skiatook, OK. Several hundred million years ago Oklahoma was a shallow sea.
