Argiope spiders are often called "writing spiders" for the white scribbles they make in the middle of their webs. They're large spiders, but this was just a young one, so not very big.

In the lobby at our church there is cart used to place items donated for our food pantry. Today, there was no food, but some young person left a scribble card, placed in an orderly manner. This kid is an artist already!
