this is a 3 part woven screen that Grandma Polly made. It won a "Best in Class" prize, and was made to go along with the theme "A River Runs Through It." This is actually the back side, as the front is quite faded from being in the solarium.
Features are a nice quality in a car, but can also be a deal breaker for some people! Bells and whistles can make a sale!

An error with flickr all did the snow tags gain a lot of views?
I know on yahoo the other day I clicked on a link for pics of the snow and was directed to flickr, so maybe that's what happened?
The Salkeld Screen is so-called because it bears the initials of Lancelot Salkeld, Dean of Carlisle, who became Dean in 1541, and the arms of Henry VIII, who died in 1547. The screen stands out in style as distinctly renaissance in a predominantly Romanesque and Gothic building. The design incorporates very fine carvings of 12 heads, six on each side. Most of the characters bear some relation to Henry VIII. Some are in contemporary dress, others in Roman style
Lattice Shade Screen constructed by Willard for Hagan Fence to provide shade for hostas. I think I'll like doing my potting bench in this location. Eight feet wide is a generous space I think. Never had an area devoted to this work before.
St Mary & St Martin, Blyth, Nottinghamshire.
Grade l listed.
The C15 south aisle screen (detail) with faded painted panels. Six of the lower panels have figures of saints surviving. Note that one of the figures is larger than the others, it may have been moved from another screen.
I wish I knew what to say about this... seems pretty unusual. I could speculate as to the reasoning behind the creation of such a work, the logic behind the desire to own such a work, but, really, I don't know.
Maybe someone who loved different schools of art, and wanted to have a whole bunch of them displayed on one artwork? Or, an artist who wanted to show off his skills? Or, maybe someone who wanted to buy a whole bunch of screens, but could only afford one?
This is where the magic happens! Our Production Room is fully equipped with a Green Screen and lighting!
