The woollen blanken of itchy scratchy doom! This particular one lives on our couch as a throw.

This is taken with my old OM system 50mm lens on a 32mm extension tube. All this on a M43 camera, so go figure what the focal length etc is, all beyond me. Light is from a quality builders LED light, my photography gear is all state of the art!

My family celebrated the 68th wedding anniversary of my mom’s parents today up in Ireton, so a quick Siouxland turn was requested. After the lunch, photos, and treats I headed south with the kiddos. As we were leaving Pilot in SUX, I heard some scratchy radio chatter that indicated maybe something was southbound. On approach to Blencoe, we caught the tail end of a short freight and the chase was on. I’ve been traveling this route to/from my grandparents’ place for nearly 4 decades and finally got a shot of a train crossing the Little Sioux River bridge.

Don't worry kids, he'll be back next week!

Chester is the oldest goat at Belmont Audubon Habitat, and I see him as the alpha. He also has the best beard. His fur is a bit coarse, though, and he enjoys vigorous pats and scratchies.

Two photos of Meg enjoying today's sunshine.

Despite being a common British bird I find Whitethroat difficult to photograph. At this time of year their familiar short scratchy warble can be heard from scrubby habitats throughout Britain, though it thins out in upland areas. In the 1960s there was an incredible two and a half million breeding pairs in Britain. Then following a severe drought in the wintering Sahel area in Africa (just south of the Sahara) during the winter of 1968/9, the numbers crashed in Britain the following year, Estimates of the severity vary but they range between a 75% and 90% drop in numbers which remained low until the mid 1980s. The population has steadily risen since then but is still only about 40% of the pre-drought total. The drought may have not been the whole story as the scrub habitat they require has also declined as coppiced woodland is abandoned (they abandon coppice once a woodland canopy forms), while hedgerows and scrub were removed.

The distinguishing features, apart from a conspicuous white throat, are a white eye-ring, chestnut wing panel, grey head, pale pink-orange legs and white outer tail feathers, which it displays in a tail-fanned song flight. I photographed this male who was defending a patch of gorse close to my village in West Yorkshire, though he only perched in the open long enough for a single photograph.

A wonder for our times: a multi-tasking man

January 29 -- February 4

This week was pretty good, other than the fact that I have now fallen victim to the common cold, including a stuffy nose and scratchy throat. I've had a fantastic weekend. I along with a bunch of other girs from InterVarsity Christian Fellowship went to this girls house who had an indoor pool! It was a great time getting to know these wonderful girls. There was a hairstyling competition, so cliche, but mine won! The girls doing my hair were ecstatic to have so much to work with haha. Regardless, it was a great weekend, I'm am typing this from my boyfriends suite while "watching" the superbowl. Have a great weekend!

P.S. Some extras in the comments!

Mind you, he would find it hard to change colour! ☺

This little creature was putting on a grooming show just for me. I adore the tiny little feet holding down the antenna. What a cutie!

I've missed you all and your wonderful captures over the last few weeks, can't wait to visit everyone's streams.

A grey squirrel stops briefly for some much needed itches and scratches, it's comical to watch as they are much like us humans. You could see the relief on his face as he hit the right spot !

This is how I like my scratchies!

Head massage, grandad style! I hold qualifications in massage (including head) and I can't get this reaction from her, but grandad has the knack!

Scratchy old kodak negative that I had stuffed in a drawer. Scanned it and liked it. Leica M3

Another swan at Earlswood Lakes , this time trying to sort out some sort of itchy problem .

I do not know if this was the same swan that I posted the other day , I did not get to read any ring numbers and there are a go 2 or 3 dozen swans hanging out here !!

Apparently I look like an eight year old when I'm sleepy.

This is me, after a long Monday, saying goodnight to the gentleman and promising Fiona the cat we can snuggle in bed soon.
