You’ve got to scratch where it itches.
Only just realised when captioning this one that I’ve already posted photos of her feet. She’s very stylish – from cute and colourful ankle bracelet, to scarf and happy hair.
Taken at the Grand Western Canal’s 200th birthday party.
First run with the Ikoflex I and I totally botched the film loading. First time with a tlr was humbling. I didn't pay too much mind on the dirt and dust or correctly cropping since I streaked the entire roll anyway. Oh well, better luck next time!
Shot on Portra 160. Scanned via epson 2450 and retouched a bit on the colors and contrast.
Antlers make good back scratchers when you are being plagued by flies! I actually had to step back at times to get shots with my telephoto lens - some more shots below - the last one shows how tame the deer at Dunham Massey are.
Asimov and cocktails. Gangster films on a Sunday in full cry, with beading and velvet, coifs and gloves. We moved to the genuine article somewhere between 18th and 24th and Alabama. Gins and tonics and weary youth, so laughable now. We were gorgeous, the collection of us, and we weren't witty as much as we were smart and full of a hundred and fifty percent potential.
Asimov and his wife wore aliases like pros but pass a writer off to a group of readers with fake names you will not. No one stripped the game, no one tipped the bets. We just talked about the history of the Mission and looked fabulous in the hazy shafts of late afternoon light. It was the last day of my life for dress up.
I didn't know it then.
My ghost still lingers there in that last taste of summer and beauty. Of fencers' grace and corseted curves.
Bugsy got nothing.
We drank and we were and we never looked over the shadows for the future or over our shoulders to the nebulous past. It was everything now, ebullient, quietly effusive, and evanescent.
The light will never again hit that angle and I dream it always.

Rem would go just crrrrazy over his scratchy post. He was a good boy - didn't scratch other things very often unless in the throes of absolute kitty crazies. Even then he was pretty good; our couch doesn't have claw marks, let's put it that way.
Note how he ever-so-carefully displays those adorable paws so as to get the most effective "Ohhhh, Remmy, you're so cute!" out of his fan club.
Gosh, we miss him. But I just keep imagining him in Heaven...wonder what kind of scratchy-post God has given him?
later this afternoon we were walking back through one of these tunnels (which all stink of urine) and there's this homeless guy caked in grime, reeking of whiskey, with his feet stretched across the walkway. He's muttering and growling something unintelligible. Zeiler and Scott step over his feet and then I pass him and as I do he looks at me from behind his scratchy beard and makes this murderous grin at me like he wants to bite through my esophagus. When we get to the end he starts calling us faggots. "Fucking fuckin' faggots, get the fuck outta here fucking.. eeerrr, faggots.. fuckin.. little fuck.." Scott and are glad to be out of this guy's reach and head for the car, but not Zeiler. He's personally offended, I mean, come one, everyone knows he's not gay. And when you offend Zeiler, someone has to hear about it. So he turns around and screams "FUCK YOU!" We then run like frightened children to our car. Zeiler.
Meet Kim, Nissa's mother-in-law's terrific dog. I'm finally finding time to catch up wth flickr after a hectic couple of weeks. This is good.
At a complete loss for ideas today (despite loads written down, which require more time).
So I set this little thing up and wrestled with keeping Scratchy still, as every little movement made him spin. Still, it's done now. All I need is a name for the shot.
