scratch masters -- turntable music

Slender Scratch-Daisy (Croptilon divaricatum).

Location: In western Wheeler County along US-441, in the coastal plain of Georgia, just north of Little Ocmulgee State Park and the town of McRae-Helena. This site is where the highway crosses a narrow east-west band of white sand hills. The plants found here are adapted to grow in these difficult conditions.

The first day of the Scratch 2012 Conference included an opening keynote by Karen Brennan and Mitch Resnick, concurrent sessions, and posters and demonstrations.

This bird is scratching its neck. Despite how it looks, this is what they normally look like. I have a pet bird, so I would know.

Yesterday during Sunday School at church, our youngest came back with scratches on his face. Apparently, a friendly activity of playing with bubbles with another toddler got ugly. My son got the brunt of the skirmish. But, it's all good. Scars and scratches are a part of life.

Rubbing crushed walnuts onto scratched hardwood floors really does make most of the scratches disappear. Way, way cool.

Commuter jets tend to have many scratches on thier laminate windows, which ruins many a good shot. At 30,000 feet, the moisture in the air makes the most of this situation. I would also like to mention that the flight attendant gave me a free drink on this flight, because I'm awesome. (Photographed on my way to St. Louis from Dulles.)

Some of the rocks have been scratched, usually with crosshatch patterns of varying width. You can see a small example of this here. I should have taken some of the more prominent ones, but didn't.

Wasn't edited. This is how the picture turned out. The film must have been faulty.
