A recent trip in the big City - a very long day, lots of walking, lots of tube trips and lots of photos.
Spotted this guy outside the Apple Store near Covent Garden playing a scratch card.....

Scratch-built model from around 2004. I'm cleaning out some boxes I haven't looked through in years, and sharing some of my treasures. The roof is made from a soup can, the building is framed and trimmed with real wood, the hinges are hand made and work really well.
This scratching post has been in the family for over thirty years. The sisal was falling apart, and we retired it for a few months--because the dog decided it was the perfect thing to shred. Meanwhile, Jolie (the fourth kitty user) decided the leather couch was a good substitute for a claw sharpener. We would have bought a new scratching post, but we couldn't find one just like this one--which is the perfect scratching post. But finally, enough was enough with the leather couch, so yesterday we went on a citywide search for replacement sisal (ending up at Home Depot), and today David finished resisaling the post. Doesn't it look just like new? Kitty is happy to have her platform back--and she's already sharpened her claws on it twice. Life is good for the family feline!
so the macromonday theme for today, 6/15, is label and i've been busily shooting pictures of labels on, attached to, and stamped on products. be prepared for a lot of them to show up in my photostream before i make up my mind :)

Ouch, Argh and lots of waily-waily. Ganshing of teeth too. My 10-22mm lens has a whopping great scratch on the front of the glass. I am mildly distraught. Now I have to rely on my shonky old kit lens that came with my old 350D. Bah.
The Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) has gone through one of the most rapid natural expansions of any bird. Originally native to Africa and Asia, it has expanded its range around the world. It arrived in the United States in 1941 and has since spread all the way to Alaska and Newfoundland and has bred in nearly all fifty states. Cattle Egret is an opportunistic feeder and follows cattle or farm machines around to catch insects. It is estimated that they gather 50% more food using only two-thirds as much energy when feeding livestock. They are also attracted to fire because they know that there will be various insects fleeing from the heat and flames that they can easily catch and eat. Spiders are a common part of their diet.

Appliance guys said.....we never have damaged a wood floor yet.
No you cannot install a new Sub-Zero with just cardboard and not scratch the new hardwood floor.
Incidentally, I found some scratches that I drew probably N (N>3) years ago on paper back of a notebook.
Those might be some doodles on a boring meeting, or the simple imitations of any cartoon series characters, I'm not sure already... anyway, uploaded here.
