I enjoy puzzles and optical illusions, and I stumbled across this one in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. I was captivated by the center building's appearance against the other two, especially when viewed in a 2D photograph.
Nearly SOOC - I just enhanced the natural vignette.
Like many urban centers throughout the U.S., Downtown Miami has been a veritable dead zone for quite a few years. Traditionally abandoned by the upwardly mobile in their search for greener pasture, more square footage, and impressive curb appeal, many Downtowns were quickly seized by those with less impressive bank accounts.
However, like other urban centers, Downtown Miami has seen a revitalization in recent years and developers have erected many, many new high rises. Miami still lags behind other city centers and the desired clientele has, thus far, proven to be rather reluctant to move in.
The area has certainly improved and I felt more than comfortable walking around - but I am a city dweller who feels comfortable walking around South Central L.A. or Spanish Harlem (even in the late 1980's). Thus, Downtown Miami certainly had nothing intimidating about it - at least as long as the sun was up....

Seen working on the Highway 41 project in Oshkosh, WI on June 28, 2011. This portion of the project includes a new interchange between HY41 and HY45 just north of Lake Butte de Morts.

Rockwell in action. It moved at about a foot a minute until the bade dulls. I sharpened it twice. Next time i was have a spare blade to speed things up.
This picture shows the front grille, right side air cleaner, headlights. The literature I am building the model from is slightly different than this machine, but it will give me some info I could not see on the brochure. I often visit the Heavy Equipment Trader on line to also get pics of machines I am going to build. I also look at the Big Truck Trader on line.

Haven't been able to get out much with the camera since New Year...
Vintage construction machinery, parked on Woodford County park next to Bluegrass Railroad Museum - Versailles KY - April 2010. This Caterpillar rubber-tired scraper has seen better days. Not sure if it is undergoing repairs or has become an organ donor. The baggage car in the background is ex-Southern Railway and belongs to the Bluegrass Railroad Museum.

A clamshell scraper (bottom center) would have been sharpened on a grinding stone like the limestone abrader on the right. Cone shells were made into scoops.
