The desert tortoise is one of 12 reptiles threatened by global warming, according to the Center for Biological Diversity. They were once as numerous as 1,000 torts per square mile in the Mojave Desert. Loss of habitat and raven predation are immediate threats but biologist believe global warming/climate change could add disease, fire, predation & new habitat threats.
This is my piece I submitted to the Climate Change in the Desert contest/show. My first time doing this, I am excited and nervous—the other submissions are incredibly wonderful, artistic, beautiful. But I’m very excited to be a part of something so environmentally important, as an artist! A big step for me. Read more...http://goo.gl/ksb5

Choose the right sort of plastic cups and the right sort of plastic glue and in one evening you put this lamp together.
I recently found out that you can make a lamp like this one by connecting the cups with paper clips or even clothes pegs.
If you use clothes pegs the lamp of course looks a lot different.
This was my submission, "Create..." to the 1st Annual Chain-link Fence Art Exhibition and Competition. Had a lot of fun with this, inspired by chain-link fencing of which I’ve never worked with before, tricky stuff ;) My arms got a work out.
MATERIALS: a 4 ft. x 4ft. scrap piece of chain-link fencing, a found barbeque grill (web), crystals, glass beads, found metal nuts/bolts/washers, metal wire and scrap telephone wire. I wanted people to discover the message in the spider’s web, “create” that would tie into the leading ant’s message of peace, happiness, laughter, love, opportunity, dreams, something(!). It’s good fun if we choose to create positive things for ourselves and the world :)

I made a clock for my home using pictures of my Grandmother, whom I was named after. For this clock, I went ahead and bought a kit from Archivers. It was a blank piece of wood and then the clock workings. I glued scrapbook paper onto a wood board. It's a blue textured piece I bought from Michael's. Added the cork tile numbers I bought at Archivers then added the pictures of my Grandmother and her relatives. Last thing added was a favorite quote on the bottom righthand corner. This hangs in my living room, where I get to see her countless times a day. The quote is "We Do Not Remember Days; We Remember Moments"
