March 10 through March 13 2019. This hands-on resident camp allows girls ages 14 to 18 to participate in a variety of activities which build leadership, self-confidence, and respect through teamwork. The camp is supported by the Girl Scouts, in partnership with Public Safety, Police and Fire/Medical Departments from across the valley.

The SFAMSC Scouting Jamboree start off with a lively and colorful parade to signal the start of a day long slew of fun and educational indoor and outdoor activities. These scouting activities designed to teach them the skills and important values such as teamwork, independence, and respect. Important skills that has many practical applications later in their adult lives.

Scout loved me but she also loved her routine, and every time I tried to move her beloved cat bed that we kept on my desk, even just by a few feet, she'd harangue and harass me for hours until I moved it back. Once I changed the seating configuration in my office, however, moving the bed let her be closer to me and this time she happily accepted the change.
Late in January of 2013, I realized she had been using the bed in its new spot for a while but I hadn't taken a picture to celebrate my victory. I took a quick picture as she sat beside me, not knowing it would be one of my last. Four days later on February 2nd, I held her as she was euthanized, spleen cancer robbing me of the most beautiful little creature I've ever known.
Scouts are invited to watch the Sugar Land Skeeters, an American professional team, play baseball. Scouts can participate in a special pre-game parade and watch the post-game fireworks! Scouts of all ages and their families can spend the night at Constellation Field, watch a movie on the Texas-sized video board, and enjoy a midnight snack and complimentary breakfast. Here's a photo of Uncle Harley from The Ohio State University 1942-1943. He passed away about a year ago. He was my mother's older brother who loved her so much. Of course, all the "Smith Kids" were a loving and close family. Uncle Harley's presence filled the room. He had personality PLUS. He was funny, active, opinionated, smart, involved, a leader, a teacher, stubborn, and altogether lovable. He was married to Aunt Irma who left us too soon. Oh, how I loved those two.

Harley W. Smith, Jr., 82, of Akron, died March 4, 2007.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma; daughter, Phoebe Hoover; sister, Patricia Henson; and brother, Julian Smith.
Harley was a Navy veteran of World War II, a graduate of East High School, The University of Akron and attended The Ohio State University. He was retired from the Post Office and active throughout his life with the Boy Scouts and the American Red Cross.
He is survived by his sons, Scott Smith, Harley Smith III, and Kim Smith; daughter, Robin Pelton; brothers, Robert Smith and Von Smith; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please send a memorial donation to: The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, VA 22038-1132.
