The Bonfire Yell is one of the highlights of the annual Scouting Camporee. The boy scouts and girl scouts of SFAMSC show off their talents in dance, acting, and singing as they perform their cheers and yells exulting the values of scouting and challenging the other patrols to do better with friendly jabs that help spark healthy competition. To give their very best performance, each patrol dedicate many days to choreograph and practice their yells. This activity helps develop important life skills such as cooperation, teamwork, creativity, and the strength of character to be able to perform publicly. Audiences are usually surprised so see once timid and shy students shine and give it their all in the Bonfire Yell.

Bishop Walkowiak celebrated 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023 at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, the fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time and the celebration of the annual diocesan Catholic Scout Mass. Children, youth, and adults involved in scouting – Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Campfire, Explorers, Venturing, and American Heritage Girls – along with their families and scout leaders joined the bishop and the Cathedral parish community for Mass.

After Mass, an awards reception was held at nearby Cathedral Square Center to honor individuals who have earned religious emblems in the past year, Eagle Scouts, and adults nominated for recognition of service.

Scout is our reigning queen and barely tolerates everyone in the house. Unless Sazzy visits - then she never leaves her side.

Scout has had a heart murmur since kittenhood and it is now progressed to cardiomyopathy and she's been on beta blockers for quite a while. We were told early on that kitties with her condition usually don't live more than 9 years so she's doing very well for an old lady of 14. And has quite a bit of spunk.
