Der Eichelhäher holte sich nur große Nüsse, wie Walnuss und Erdnuss vom Futtervorrat. Sonnenblumenkerne ließ er links liegen. Wie er die harten Nüsse knackt, konnte ich leider nicht beobachten, schade.

The jay only took large nuts, such as walnuts and peanuts, from the food supply. He left sunflower seeds to the left. Unfortunately, I couldn't observe how he cracked the hard nuts, which was a pity.

... dass Ihr diese köstliche Walderdbeere nicht pflücken und kosten könnt, sie schmeckt so unsagbar aromatisch. Die Walderdbeeren haben sich von allein in unserem Garten gepflanzt, an mehreren Stellen verstreut und ich bin ihnen dankbar dafür.
Am Weg durch mein Archiv kam mir noch eine Heidelbeere im herbstlich rot gefärbten Blättergewand unter. Wer sie sehen mag, schaut ins erste Kommentarfeld.

Es ist schade. Heute ist WeltWalrossTag. Jedenfalls in Russland. Und niemand darf den kleinen, süßen Fiete im Tierpark Hagenbeck besuchen. Der Tierpark ist wegen Corona geschlossen.
Fiete kam am 5. Mai 2019 zur Welt.

Exactly two years ago I was in Canada for the first time and in fact I would have been there again this year. Yesterday, I found out that the exchange has been cancelled for this fall as well. So I'm really thankful that I've been there before and I also hope that everything will get back to normal, even though it doesn't look like it at the moment. Stay safe! :)
Vor genau zwei Jahren war ich zum ersten Mal in Kanada und an sich wäre ich auch in diesem Jahr noch dort gewesen. Erst gestern habe ich erfahren, dass auch für diesen Herbst der Austausch abgesagt worden ist. Daher bin ich echt dankbar, dass ich schon mal dort war und ich hoffe auch, dass sich wieder alles wieder mehr normalisiert, auch wenn es derzeit wieder nicht danach aussieht. Bleibt gesund! :)

Deutsch siehe Unten,
Op woensdag 22 juni bezocht ik de haven van Uffeln. De spoorlijn hier naartoe begint in Ibbenbüren-Esch en eindigt in een omloopspoor, hier eindigt de draad. Alleen de kade is diesel. Deze dag kwam zowel Captrain met de 159 101 en DB Cargo met de 261 062.
Nadat DB klaar was en captrain de eerste sleep had weggerangeerd was het tijd voor de 2e sleep van Captrain. Deze kwam binnenrijden met kopse zonnestand. Omdat ik er al sinds 8 uur was kon het geen kwaad om tot 14 uur te blijven wachten, even leek alles te mislukken door het versnelde laadproces. Gelukkig ging de lopende band opeens kapot, hierdoor kwam oponthoud, en niet weinig ook. Toen alles gerepareerd was stond de zon net goed en ging de trein 3 wagenlengtes naar voren, zoals nu te zien is. Tegelijkertijd voerde een kraan graafwerkzaamheden uit bij een boot.
Het is 14:13 als Captrain 159 101 met een sleep grindwagens 3 wagenlengtes naar voren rijdt in de haven van Ibbenbüren Esch, Uffeln. De trein had hierna nog maar een kleine anderhalfuur nodig, het ontladen van de eerste set bij de firma Bergschneider was al voor mijn aankomst om 8 uur in de ochtend begonnen.

Am Mittwoch den 22. Juni war im im Uffelner Hafen. Die Bahnstrecke nach Uffeln fängt an in Ibbenbüren-Esch, und endet mit einem kleines Gbf. Nur die Gleise am Kade sind nicht Elektrifiziert. Diesen Tag kam sowohl Captrain mit 159 101 und DB Cargo mit Gravita 261 062.
Nachdem DB fertig war, und Captrain schon das 1. Teil entladet hat, war es zeit für das 2. Teil des Züges. Die Sonne war noch nicht ausreichend durchgedreht, dank einen Schade am Entladestelle kam es zur Verzögerung, dadurch war am 14 Uhr die Sonne durchgedreht und die Zug immernoch Gut fotografierbar, also war zum Glück das besuch dann doch sehr Erfolgreich.
14:13 steht Captrain dann Optimal im Uffelner Hafen. Danach bin ich dann abgefahren, etwa zwei Stunden später war dann die Totale Entladung erfolgreich abgeschlossen, obwohl schon um 8 Uhr angefangen war.
Heute nachmittag auf unserem Balkon - schade, dass ich keine analoge Kamera zur Hand hatte ...

Two landmarks of the village of Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Waver emerge over the treetops:
1. Left to center, the catholic school ''Sint-Ursula Instituut'' and its Ursuline convent, established in 1841 on the site of a former Capuchin convent. Rebuilt with a neo-Romanesque inclination in 1919-1921 following WW1 damages. Further extended in 1934-1937, and then again in 1986-1988.
2. Right, the church of Our Lady, which was built from 1921 to 1924 on the remains on a XIII century church. Its spire is 68 m tall. Listed since 2013.
Two other landmarks are also visible:
- Top left, the concrete water tower in Nijlen, built in 1963 (38.2 km away).
- Bottom-center, the spire of the 18th century classicist Sint-Antonius church in Houtem (11.5 km away, listed in 1975).

Deux ensembles de bâtiments emblématiques du village d'Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Waver émergent au-dessus de la cime des arbres :
1. De la gauche au milieu, l'institut catholique Sainte Ursule et son couvent des Ursulines, établis en 1841 sur le site d'un ancien couvent des Capucins. Reconstruit avec une inclinaison néo-romane en 1919-1921 suite aux dégâts de la première guerre mondiale. Agrandissements en 1934-1937, puis à nouveau en 1986-1988.
2. A droite, l'église Notre-Dame, construite de 1921 à 1924 sur les vestiges d'une église du XIIIe siècle. Sa flèche mesure 68 m de haut. Classée depuis 2013.
Deux autres monuments sont également visibles :
- En haut à gauche, le château d'eau de Nijlen, construit en béton en 1963 (à 38,2 km).
- En bas au centre, la flèche de l'église classique Sint-Antonius du 18e siècle à Houtem (à 11,5 km, classée en 1975).

De schubbige bundelzwam (Pholiota squarrosa)
Meestal wordt de schubbige bundelzwam aangetroffen van september tot november. Hij groeit in bundels op de wortels en aan de voet van loofbomen, minder vaak op naaldbomen. De zwam brengt veel schade toe aan fruitbomen. In Nederland is het een algemeen voorkomende soort in bossen, parken en plantsoenen.
De schubbige bundelzwam bevat een op het maag-darmstelsel werkend vergif: sesquiterpeen. Na koken zijn de hoeden wel eetbaar.

Usually the scaly bundle fungus is found from September to November. It grows in bundles on the roots and at the base of deciduous trees, less often on conifers. The fungus causes a lot of damage to fruit trees. In the Netherlands it is a common species in forests, parks and public gardens.
The scaly bundle fungus contains a poison that acts on the gastrointestinal tract: sesquiterpene. After cooking, the hats are edible.
Die Sonne färbt die Nebelschwaden die aus dem bunten Herbstwald aufsteigen. Schade das es so schnell vorbei war.
The sun colours the clouds of mist that rise from the colourful autumn forest. Too bad that it was over so quickly.
Today I'm rather late with a new photo. It's mainly because I'm currently working on a photo book. I have sifted through so many pictures, edited them and moved them back and forth. In the meantime, I'm satisfied with it and can devote myself to Flickr again :D
Heute bin ich mit nem neuen Foto ziemlich spät dran. Es liegt vor allem daran, dass ich derzeit an einem Fotobuch sitze. Ich habe so viele Bilder gesichtet, nachbearbeitet und hin- und hergeschoben. Mittlerweile bin ich damit zufrieden und kann mich wieder Flickr widmen :D

Fifty Schades of Grey? NO they are 256!
Gray is created in additive and subtractive color mixing when the proportions of the respective primary colors are the same, but the brightness is neither maximum (white) nor minimum (black).
Gray is a color stimulus that is darker than white and lighter than black, but produces no or only a small colored impression (color valence).
So gray has no colorfulness, it is an uncolored color.
The gradations between pure white and pure black (black and white scale) are called grayscales.
the grayscale table has 256 gray tints.

a wonderful table top work for too hot summer days. Take a glass board and fix a glass on it. Then you pour water or juice (no wine, you better drink ...) into the glass while doing serial shooting with the remote trigger.

eine wunderbare Heimarbeit für zu heiße Sommertage, wie gerade eben. Man nehme ein Glasbrett und fixiere ein Glas darauf. Jetzt gießt man Wasser/Saft (Wein wäre zu schade...) drauf und macht Serienaufnahmen.

Einfach zu schade diese Bilder nur im Archiv zu speichern bevor ich sie Euch gezeigt zu haben oder was meint Ihr.
Just too bad to save these pictures only in the archive before I have shown them to you or what do you think.
For over 30 years I have developed my 35mm and roll films myself. The films were placed in complete darkness on this spiral and then placed in the associated box with a light-tight lid. Then the light was switched on again, the developer was poured into it and the can was moved evenly for about 5 minutes. Finally, the development chemistry was distributed and replaced by the fixation. Move again for a few minutes. Then it just needed watering. In the end, always the exciting question: Did I take good pictures and made no mistake in the development. This tension no longer occurs in digital photography. Sometimes a pity!
Über 30 Jahre lang habe ich meine Kleinbild- und auch Rollfilme selber entwickelt. Die Filme wurden bei völliger Dunkelheit auf diese Spirale geschoben und dann in die dazugehörige Dose mit lichtdichtem Deckel gestellt. Anschließend konnte das Licht wieder eingeschaltet werden, der Entwickler wurde hineingeschüttet und die Dose ca. 5 Minuten gleichmäßig bewegt. Zum Schluss wurde die Entwicklungschemie ausgeschüttet und durch die Fixierung ersetzt. Nochmal einige Minuten lang bewegen. Dann brauchte nur noch gewässert werden. Am Ende immer die spannende Frage: Habe ich gut fotografiert und auch keinen Fehler bei der Entwicklung gemacht. Diese Spannung kommt bei der Digitalfotografie nicht mehr auf. Manchmal schade!

Ich finde es ziemlich witzig, dass ich in der Fotografie und beim Puzzeln sehr geduldig sein kann. Nur mit mir selbst bin ich manchmal extrem ungeduldig :D
I find it quite funny that I can be very patient in photography and puzzles. Only with myself I am sometimes extremely impatient :D

Die Knospen, inkl. Stiel, haben eine ungefähre Länge von 15 cm, geöffnete Blüten messen ca. 20 cm länge und haben einen Durchmesser von ca. 10-13 cm.
Schade blühen sie nur einen Tag lang.
The buds, including the stem, have an approximate length of 15 cm, opened flowers measure about 20 cm long and have a diameter of about 10-13 cm.
Too bad they bloom only for one day.
Los capullos, incluido el tallo, tienen una longitud aproximada de 15 cm, las flores abiertas miden unos 20 cm de largo y tienen un diámetro de unos 10-13 cm.
Es una pena que sólo florezcan durante un día.

HET VERHAAL VAN HET SCHIELANDSHUIS
Als de muren konden praten, dan zouden we zoveel meer weten over de rijke geschiedenis van het Schielandshuis. Het is gebouwd in een tijd dat de Coolsingel nog een gracht was en de skyline van Rotterdam werd bepaald door de Laurenskerk. In 1665 werd het Schielandshuis in gebruik genomen door polderbestuurders van welgestelde komaf. Zij zorgden er onder andere voor dat het water in de stad werd bedwongen. Onder hen kreeg het Schielandshuis de uitstraling van een stadspaleis. Niet voor niets sliepen de Franse keizer Napoleon en Alexander, de Tsaar van Rusland, hier ooit.
BAKEN VAN HISTORIE
Ruim anderhalve eeuw was het Schielandshuis een thuis voor het Hoogheemraadschap van Schieland. Zij gebruikte het luxueuze onderkomen om te vergaderen, eten en slapen. Tijdens die eerste gloriejaren was het niet voor publiek toegankelijk. Het gold als een van de meest markante gebouwen van het centrum van Rotterdam en was een heuse bezienswaardigheid. De sfeer van toen vind je vandaag de dag nog terug in het interieur van de stijlkamers. In de magere jaren, toen het Schielandshuis de functie van logeerplek verloor, werd het huis alsnog verhuurd en opengesteld voor publiek. In 1773 kwam er in het souterrain een theater en weer een paar jaar later werd de eerste verdieping een werkplek ‘op stand’ voor stadhuispersoneel. De gemeente Rotterdam kocht het private pand in 1840. De Utrechtse kunstverzamelaar mr. F.J.O. Boymans wilde zijn kunst nalaten aan de stad op voorwaarde dat er een geschikte plek voor werd gezocht. Een paar jaar later opende Museum Boymans zijn deuren.
HEROPENING
Een felle brand halverwege de 19e eeuw bracht veel schade aan. Er gingen documenten en kunst verloren, net als de oorspronkelijke inrichting uit de 17e eeuw. Alleen de muren bleven staan. De gemeente Rotterdam bracht het Schielandshuis in etappes terug in de sfeer van toen en stelde het opnieuw open als Museum Boymans en Museum Rotterdam. Als door een wonder overleefde het rijksmonument het bombardement op Rotterdam. De laatste jaren heeft het huis van de stad grotendeels leeg gestaan. Met de komst van Rotterdam Partners en Rotterdam Tourist Information als ‘hoofdbewoners’ komt het Schielandshuis weer tot leven. Zij openen letterlijk en figuurlijk de deuren voor bezoekers uit binnen- en buitenland, bedrijven en bewoners.
HUIS VAN DE STAD
Ingepakt tussen moderne hoogbouw is het Schielandshuis een historisch icoon. In dit huis is iedereen welkom. Het is een plek voor iedereen die woont, werkt of verblijft in Rotterdam. Het is je vertrekpunt voor een bezoek aan Rotterdam, een plek om te ontspannen en mensen te ontmoeten. Het is het huis waarin je je laat inspireren en informeren of waar je komt om zaken te doen. Als vanouds kun je weer in het Schielandshuis eten en om te onthaasten is de secret garden de place to be. De bewoners van het ‘Huis van de stad’ hebben allemaal een groot hart voor Rotterdam en van daaruit proberen zij met aanstekelijke enthousiasme de stad vooruit te helpen. Netwerken en het verbinden van mensen, initiatieven en handel staan centraal.

THE STORY OF THE SCHIELANDS HOUSE
If the walls could talk, we would know so much more about the rich history of the Schielandshuis. It was built at a time when the Coolsingel was still a canal and the skyline of Rotterdam was determined by the Laurenskerk. In 1665, the Schielandshuis was taken into use by polder administrators of wealthy descent. They ensured, among other things, that the water in the city was contained. Among them, the Schielandshuis took on the appearance of a city palace. It is not for nothing that the French Emperor Napoleon and Alexander, the Tsar of Russia, once slept here.
BEACON OF HISTORY
The Schielandshuis was home to the Schieland Water Board for over a century and a half. She used the luxurious accommodation for meetings, eating and sleeping. During those first glory years, it was not open to the public. It was considered one of the most striking buildings in the center of Rotterdam and was a real attraction. The atmosphere of that time can still be found today in the interior of the period rooms. In the lean years, when the Schielandshuis lost its function as a guest house, the house was still rented out and opened to the public. In 1773 a theater was built in the basement and a few years later the first floor became a workplace 'on stand' for city hall staff. The municipality of Rotterdam bought the private property in 1840. The Utrecht art collector mr. F.J.O. Boymans wanted to bequeath his art to the city on the condition that a suitable place was found for it. Museum Boymans opened its doors a few years later.
REOPENING
A fierce fire in the mid-19th century caused a lot of damage. Documents and art were lost, as was the original 17th-century furnishings. Only the walls remained. The municipality of Rotterdam gradually brought the Schielandshuis back to the atmosphere of that time and reopened it as Museum Boymans and Museum Rotterdam. As if by miracle, the national monument survived the bombing of Rotterdam. In recent years, the city's house has largely stood empty. With the arrival of Rotterdam Partners and Rotterdam Tourist Information as 'main residents', the Schielandshuis is coming back to life. They literally and figuratively open the doors for visitors from home and abroad, companies and residents.
HOUSE OF THE CITY
Wrapped in a modern high-rise building, the Schielandshuis is a historic icon. Everyone is welcome in this house. It is a place for everyone who lives, works or stays in Rotterdam. It is your starting point for a visit to Rotterdam, a place to relax and meet people. It is the house where you are inspired and informed or where you come to do business. As usual you can eat in the Schielandshuis and to relax, the secret garden is the place to be. The residents of the 'House of the city' all have a big heart for Rotterdam and from there they try to help the city move forward with infectious enthusiasm. Networking and connecting people, initiatives and trade are central.
The past, present and future come together in the Schielandshuis. In this house, work is done on the Rotterdam of the future with respect for history.

Almost forgotten and therefore a little later than usual...
But here it is – a beautiful photo of birch bark. I like this structure and the white fits today also very well to the first snow in this winter.

Fast vergessen und daher etwas später dran als sonst..
Dafür aber ein wunderschönes Foto einer Birkenrinde. Ich mag diese Struktur und das weiß passt heute auch sehr gut zum ersten Schnee in diesem Winter.
Hat es bei euch auch schon geschneit?!
