Sea shells scanography.

Scanography more commonly referred to as scanner photography, is the process of capturing digitized images of objects for the purpose of creating printable art using a flatbed "photo" scanner.

finally started my multimedia series! i came up with this idea a while back after realizing i hadn't done any scanography lately, so i wanted to do a whole series based on using plants and flowers to make clothing and accessories. it seemed like a fun thing to do, so i'm happy to finally be working on these! this will be a five-part series where i'll be bringing out my inner fashion designer through nature and i couldn't be more happy with the results so far. get excited for the other four photos! A scanograph I did over a year ago and never uploaded. I wanted to share it today.

So, this past week has been interesting for me. I've been out a lot and have spent most of my time sitting in various cinemas and just walking about really. It's been fun.

Whats everyone else been up to?

Yup, figured I'd scan my toes. I wake up really early these days and sleep really early too. It's too weird. I wake up at 8am with nothing to do all day then I'm like "arghhhhhhh". Just recieved the prints from my giveaway though so will be sending those off today

The way some flower varieties change form and texture as they fade and die away is really very wonderful, especially the surface shine.

I have forgotten how to do this! ... must check it out.

In scanography NO camera is used, just a scanner.

Ich habe einen Kopf aus Pappmaché geformt und mit einem getrockneten Blatt kombiniert.

Wie bei kokon_2, nur leicht veränderte Position.

I made a head out of paper clay and combined it with a dried leaf.

As in picture kokon_2, only slightly changed position.

Scanography - captured on the scanner as a digital image

Made with a DIY scanner camera.

♈ 2006 / Scanographie

Day 217

I missed scanography and it's really hot outside so I made this today.

It is my first contribution to "Finding Yellow" and a continuation of my alphabet project :) (Yay for multitasking!) "Finding Yellow" is all about finding positivity and I love the concept so much <3 I definitely want to do something more creative later ;)

Had a bit of fun playing with my scanner with tray. I saw the flickr blog post about scanography and said "Hell, let's give it a try."
