In fairytale conditions (grim!) the relatively rare sight of a Class 45/1 North of Heaton on the ECML on 19th April 1986. 45104 had worked the 08:00 Newcastle to Edinburgh stopping service and was returning with the ECS, seen here at Little Benton. This service was normally the preserve of a Class 47.
