To further help my Uncle on his diet (and to make sure he doesn’t secretly eat away at my chocolate stash) I started make him stand on the scales every evening and note down his progress, if there is any.
After comparing the results with those of the previous evening, I usually have a little pep talk with my Uncle... I found that bringing Thwack along to this session is most motivating.
My Uncle usually starts sweating before he has even begun his nightly work out :-)
I had to buy ink for my classroom printer. Walking toward the store, I happened upon this gem. With a graphic like this, the angle from above seemed the most powerful option.
The Glacier on the left seems so small however if you look on the right there are 2 small dots, those are people :) Those mounds have broken off and made their way down the hill and look like mice to me. via 500px ift.tt/1CNhTVd

Probably my best model so far. I've been improving this for the past 4 or 5 months and it still is here :D Yay for conservation! Scale is pretty nice and it has seats, see other pics for them. It's fig scale and can raise and lower, also has a breech and "trigger" As I said, see the other pics.
This picture shows various pieces of metal that have a known mass (and weight.) Since the two are directly proportional to each other (F=m(9.8)), scales on earth always measure weight and can also give mass if the numbers on the dial are changed. This can most easily be seen with the smaller green and silver spring scale in the middle, which measures grams (a mass) and Newtons (a weight.) The next video discusses how these various scales give a reading that can be used to obtain the object's weight or mass

I love this beautiful butterfly on Bee Balm. I shot a long confirmation image then moved up close and personal, digitally capturing the fresh wing scales of this recently emerged swallowtail as I sat upon my portable stool with macro lens mounted on tripod!
I was literally surrounded with pollinating bees and wasp as I slowly readjusted amongst the tangent nectar sources.
Dare was a whole lotta buzzen and nectaring going on out dare!!!

I find that the matchup of arms to body to legs is something that has to be handled carefully; for one, a lot of legs won't play well with low-hanging arms. Other times, a leg that looks fantastic on one thing will look awful on another - and I have a habit of trying to overuse some, I find, so even if it looks good it's sometimes necessary to find another.
Free use; some of these have been sitting about for months.

The weird exposure was inadvertent, but it is fine with me. The weight, from a heavy agricultural scale, is actually dark, rusty brown. I did the orange dots with pastel.
