Week 4 in LB2013. I'm going to add my journaling afterwards as it is quite personal. I used a white pastel pencil by Conte as I liked the way you could smudge tthe white out.

I like the faded PC logo. It would also have been nice to stop short of obliterating the logo so it was more identifiable. This car is a good one for a patch job, perhaps AEX reporting marks.

The Theseus temple is a neo-classical building in the People's Garden in the first Viennese district Innere Stadt.
The temple was built in 1819-1823 by architect Peter von Nobile. It stands on a tripartite hierarchical structure and the outer dimensions are 14 × 24.7 m and a total height of 10.5 m. In technical terms, the building is a so-called Peripteros (dipteral temples) with six and thirteen columns. To the cella (main room) close a pronaos (antechamber) and an opisthodomos (rear hall). The metopes between the triglyphs have no motives. Likewise, the tympanum (tympanum above the door lintel) is empty. This scaled-down replica of the Athens Theseion served the setting up of the by Antonio Canova created Theseus sculpture. Canova participated at the building of the temple. As the building stands on the site of the former moat, the foundation walls had to reach down very deep. The resulting space between them was not replenished but covered and used for a collection of Roman monuments. The separate entrance building has now been replaced by a large manhole cover.
The sculpture was transferred in 1890 to the Kunsthistorisches Museum, and stands there in the intermediate landing of the main staircase. Today, the temple serves as a backdrop for temporary exhibitions.
From 2008 to 2010 an extensive renovation of the devastated building was carried out. Here, the temple was once again provided with the original, pure white color.

Tree scale is caused by the digestion of usually rotting wood by scores of different fungal species. As the fungi digest the wood these scales develop on the outer surface of the wood. The scales vary greatly in size color and shape and some can become quite beautiful with alternating layers of color.
