An N Scaler at the Train Show purchased one of those new Bachmann Digital DD40AX's and asked if we (South Hampton Roads NTRAK) could test run it for him. I had to locate a conversion car and then placed his loco on the track. To my surprise (literally) some bells sounded and the locomotive made an accelerating sound as it moved forward. This thing has a sound decoder in it that works on analog! It does however have a very high starting voltage because of this sound chip installed (and decoder too). Here is a video of his locomotive pulling my train. This was at 90% throttle. This loco might also have a slow speed motor.
