We're having a new roof and the scaffolders were supposed to be coming this coming Friday, but they turned up early this morning.
If my neighbours weren't awake, they are now … but I'm sure they'll be happier to see a new roof, rather than the 106 year old one with missing and broken tiles :)

A large portion of this town has been torn up for a long time for construction of a light rail system.
Claims to be the oldest Catholic Church still operating in the original 13 colonies.
Reparations or not, I have a hard time moving on from the selling of humans to support Georgetown University.

This was taken at the same building as the previous picture. Bamboo was taken down floor by floor and the job was half done. I think this building is around 30 years old and around 20 stories high. This picture shows the first 10 floors still covered in bamboo scaffolding. The construction workers just climb in and start cutting the ties that keep everything together and pass the bamboo down to street level....
Oh and did I mention that people are walking by and under the scaffolding while work is in progress? Too busy a streat to close down for pedestrians.
The opposite way is also interesting. I once sat at a Starbucks when they started to build a scaffolding on the other side of the street. In no time they are working 3 to 4 stories up....

A scaffolding truck hit the bus, spilling pieces of scaffolding, and tearing part off the truck and the bus' wing mirror.
For the last two weeks, Pantygwydr Church has been covered with scaffolding while the walls are repointed. The eight scaffolding floors completely transform the look of the building. I started the sketch this morning, but all of a sudden the heavens opened, and so I ran back home.

I know I find weird things interesting. Maybe it because of Mark being in the construction/engineering field and I have it drilled in my head. But people climbing up bamboo scaffolding upwards of 100 stories high I found interesting abeit a little freaky too. You wouldn't catch me up there!
