I got a photo of this on a local driveway nearly 2 years ago, but it wasn't a very good one due to there being another car in front of it. I was sat in the Lanos behind it this afternoon when this parked up in front of me, so it was an ideal opportunity for a better shot, as I had a feeling it was this car.
It looks very tidy, but it's not one I've seen at any local shows. A slightly younger driver than I'd have expected too, especially considering the nice house I see it parked outside.
Flickr photo number 1000. This is slightly out of sequence, but I wanted a memorable shot for this upload
Having decided to hang around for the extra 4 hours for the return Waverley railtour to York I was questioning that decision, as with 20 minutes till it was due there was heavy cloud over Ais Gill. As the scheduled time approached, the sun could be seen starting to creep up the Dale from Mallerstang. Luck was on my side as the 8F was running 7 minutes late. The sun had reached the viaduct as 48151 came into view around the far corner, and advanced slowly towards us and eventually beat the train to this spot by about 50 yards. Those standing in the usual gallery shot position on the other side of the road bridge only got shade. Oh yes, and the rods are down too !!
For the record Stanier 8F 2-8-0 48151 leads 47245 with 1Z71 The last Waverley railtour of the season, 16:18 Carlisle - York. The steam locomotive came off at Hellifield because of a contentious ban on steam in the Yorkshire area imposed by Network Rail

Not clear on Blue Dasher vs. Eastern Pondhawk? Valerie at www.austinbug.com writes "When seen close, it is easy to identify the Blue Dasher, which has a white face, striped yellowish and dark thorax, and brilliant green eyes. The abdomen is blue, but the tip is often very black and the base has yellow at the sides."
Shot hand-held.
