Day 1. Battersea Power Station.

S'Warm is inspired by the shocking demise of the global bee population, and involves 500 National Youth Theatre members swarming around London for five days.
After rehearsing at Battersea Park for three weeks, the performers "swarm" London in a figure of eight over a period of five days, reuniting at famous London landmarks to perform en-masse.
S’Warm takes a look at the honey bee issue – namely that without their existence the entire food chain would collapse. In 2008, nearly 20% of the UK’s honey bee colonies died and in 2009 a third of the US bee population succumbed. Einstein once famously said: “If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live”.

Bees are vital for our survival but they are worryingly in decline, particularly our honeybees. We can all do our own bit to help save our bees (and in the long term our food crops and thus ourselves) by trying to plant flowers that these marvellous little creatures thrive on in our garden. In the UK, the Royal Horticultural Society has just made that a little easier, launching a simple but brilliant idea guaranteed to get you and your garden buzzing. Read my latest blog to find out all about it.
