In this era of instant internet news, you may ask why you should save your newspaper. There are two obvious reasons:
1. For house breaking a new puppy
2. To spread out on the table when eating crabs
Well, as you can see by this photo there is an obvious third reason that even I didn’t think of ... curtains.
You never know when you might need a quick set of curtains, which also provide excellent reading material, crosswords, sudoku and the like.

Fifth image from our recent Cooma Trip. We decided to take the backroad back home from Cooma, so we travelled back via Braidwood. Lots of exploring and dirt roads, and along the way we found this little gem.
St Brigids church, at Krawarree.
It stood out from about a kilometer away, a pure white church, unobstructed, on a hill, against a blue sky with puffy white clouds.
We had been trying some Infrared photography for the first time during this trip, and this church just screamed out for some IR.
Thanks to my good friend Mr Peter Bliss for the post processing advice as I was unsure about the process in photoshop.

Mural "Whale" by Swiss artists duo Nevercrew on the pavement of Rue à Degrée in Mons, Belgium.
Nevercrew is a duo of Swiss artists composed of Christian Rebecchi & Pablo Togni. They have worked together since 1996 and the subjects they deal with are the human condition, the relationship between man and nature (and vice versa) and the impact of economic or social systems on the environment. Most of Nevercrew's creations depict animals that are lost, in trouble, or imprisoned. Each painting denounces in its own way the misfortunes endured by nature because of human activity. (...)
Inspired by the name of the street, “Degree Street”, they used the reference to temperature, rise/increase and descent/fall/decrease.

My first seascape in quite a while, and jeez, it was a journey to get it.
Out of bed at 2:30am, picked my mate up at 3:00am, drove for two hours, scouted our location in the dark with our headlamps for 20 minutes. found our comp, shot for 45 minutes, packed up, went and had brekky, chatted with some more mates, and drove another 2 hours back home. All in all, about a 7.5 hour round trip for one photo.
But I'm happy with the results.
This is exactly what I went to get.
The sky and weather forecast actually played ball for a change, and eventuated as predicted by the weather gods.

The irony of 5 pointz... it created the very culture and neighborhood that the developers want to exploit. If not for 5pointz it is doubtful that MoMA and others would have ever ventured out into the wilds of Queens.

It's been really cold here in Finland for a couple of weeks now. Lovely midwinter then. :-) Days are getting longer. Snow is pretty. Polar bears everywhere. :-)
