Hello flickr friends, I apologize for my absence. This is the busy half of the year for those who work in photo labs :)
I recently got some bummer news: the concert review website I worked (volunteered) for has dissolved its Seattle branch. There was a show I really wanted to shoot coming up, but I didn't know how I would get in with a camera.
Next thing I know, my dear friend Patrick sends me a message saying "hey, Saves The Day is looking for photographers for their upcoming tour". Yes, the very same tour with Motion City Soundtrack and Say Anything I desperately wanted to shoot. Some time went by and I didn't hear anything, so I tried to put it out of my mind. Just a week or so before the show I got the e-mail saying I got it! :)
So check out the rest of my Saves The Day photos on Facebook (currently the most recent seven) and Patrick's are on there too so be proud of him - it was his first time photographing a show instead of being the one on stage :)
PS: It makes me feel old that the last time I saw Saves The Day live was eight years ago ;)

Our Save the Date was sent electronically to about 90% of our guest list. The other 10% (people who we knew would absolutely want a hard copy and those with no internet skills) got glossy, photo-quality versions.

I was going out of my path past my bird feeders and I saw this little sweetie sitting on the ground with its feathers so fluffed up it looked like a little round pom pom ,so I picked it up and tried to get it warm for a moment, to see if it would recover in case it had been stunned by something. I put it in a shoe box so it was dark to keep it calm and safe for a time half an hour later it flew but only to sit in the hedge then the grass so I had to pick it up again and took it to a vet who checked it and gave it to the RSPCA to get some help to see if it will be well again to fly free..
