"Message from Mary S.: The future of the Internet as we know it is at stake. The FCC is proposing rules that would kill the open Internet and create a fast lane for companies that can afford big fees and a slow dirt road for the rest of us. We're fighting back--and we're being heard. This Thursday, May 15, the FCC will meet in Washington, DC, to vote on whether or not to advance this proposal. We'll rally in DC, but we won't stop there: We'll gather at FCC offices in 24 cities to send shockwaves through the FCC bureaucracy until they restore real Net Neutrality and protect the Internet for all of us."

In February 2011, Manchester City Council set its budget proposals, mainly to try and tackle the cuts that the Council will be facing due to the economic situation.
The budget proposals make for scary reading.
As well as a controversial plan to effectively cease to be an Early Years provider of daycare and sell off its Sure Start nurseries to other providers, there are also local cuts which affect the people of Levenshulme, notably the baths.
The local swimming baths has always been popular with residents (indeed when this shot was taken, many people were going in) and there have been campaigns before to save the baths when it has been faced with closure.
The campaign has already had a demonstration and meeting take place, and there are plans for further demonstrations.
I for one would be gutted if a well used local amenity went without due consultation with the local residents.

On Saturday July 2, a March for Europe took place in central London, which attracted around 50,000 people, calling for Britain to remain in the EU, supporting the pan-European community that it has allowed to come into existence, opposing racism and xenophobia, and calling for MPs to refuse to pass the legislation that is needed for our departure to actually take place, rather than, as at present, being the preferred course of action of a slim majority of the 72.2% of the electorate who actually bothered to vote. I took this photo, at the top of Whitehall, by Trafalgar Square, of one of the many handmade signs on the day.
The march took place just eight days after a shocked Britain woke up to discover that, after the most ill-advised referendum in UK history, those voting to leave the EU had secured more votes than those who wanted to stay in — and those attending were just a fraction of the 16,141,241 people who voted to remain in the EU, but the march was an important sign of hugely important dissent that, I fervently hope, will not go away.
We need to maintain pressure on our MPs not to accept the result — not out of any anti-democratic sentiment, but because 1) leaving the EU would be disastrous for our economy and our standing in the world; 2) isolationism has already led to a rise in racism and xenophobia, apparently normalised by the result; 3) the referendum should never have been called, and was only called because of the narrow party political concerns of David Cameron, and not because of any need for it; 4) the Leave campaign’s efforts to secure victory, with the collusion of large parts of the media, involved telling voters disgraceful lies, and Boris Johnson, who did so much to ensure its success, didn’t even believe in it, and only supported it in the hope of furthering his own political aims; 5) most importantly, Parliament has to endorse it before it can happen, and MPs’ obligation is to vote in the best interests of the country, not to rubber-stamp the result of a unjustifiable referendum; and 6) as some lawyers are arguing, the process of triggering our departure from the EU, if enacted, would be unlawful.

On April 5. VSEA members working at the Vermont Veterans Home conducted a Honk-and-Wave in downtown Bennington to begin enlisting public support in the workers' fight to save Vermont's only Veterans' Home.
An engagement photo shoot I did. They are having a photo booth at their reception, which sparked the idea for this shoot.
The idea is from a fellow flick member who's profile i don't know, my client showed had a copy of their version. To whoever you are, if you see this, you had a great idea... Thank you.
