If Sasquatch doesn't exist...how do you explain this? ;-)

I return every few years to revisit my favorite redwood burl which I named Sasquatch, the indigenous name for big foot. I’m a sceptic but I suspect if such a creature exists this is how he/she might look. I first photographed this in 2012, my first extended stay in Del Norte County. This burl is located within Stout Grove within Jedediah Smith State Park near Crescent City, California.

The Sasquatch Inn has been around since 1954. The old sign and old telephone booth - common sights not that long ago.

But the real story - Bigfoot or Sasquatch, real or not real.

You tell me?

Seen on the corner of the Crowsnest Trail and Sasquatch Trail, near Osoyoos, BC. I felt very safe around the mysterious creature, mostly because my husband kicked his ass back into the woods ;-)

While we were driving from the Hood River area to coastal Oregon, we passed through the town of Elsie, OR. There we came across the Camp 18 Logging Museum and Restaurant. It looked like a fun place to stop and grab some lunch. The food was excellent and the surroundings were that of a logging museum.

Normally this kind of thing, museums that is, is a dreaded event for me because Tom is always so captivated by each and literally everything there, whereas I usually glance over things. LOL. But this one was different ... since I went off on my own and found arbitrary stuff to photograph.

This particular section had some wood carvings, including this guy - Sasquatch, aka Bigfoot, or as we call him in Florida, Swamp Thing. Either way, there are some who believe that such a creature exists and lives in the forests, especially within the Pacific Northwest. Remember Harry & The Hendersons? I was always fascinated with how Harry would blend in to the trees and thought how cool it would be if he really did exist.... but who knows for sure, right? LOL

So, I took a shot of him point blank, and then I realized that I could shoot it at an angle where it seemed more natural. Yes, I'm quite easily entertained. :-)

Anyways, I thought that it would be a fun image to share, as we close our weekend. Hope that everyone had a fun one.

Thanks for stopping by to view and especially for all of your thoughts and comments. We were actually away over the weekend and quite busy, so I'll be getting around to your photostreams as well starting tonight.

Day 210: The rumors are true...Bigfoot is alive and well and living in a Kansas City suburb :) Feeling a little silly tonight and didn't feel like photoshopping, so thought I'd dabble with perspective a bit.

Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is the name given to a cryptid ape- or hominid-like creature that some people believe inhabits forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Bigfoot is usually described as a large, hairy, bipedal humanoid. The term sasquatch is an anglicized derivative of the Halkomelem word sásq'ets.

Most scientists discount the existence of Bigfoot and consider it to be a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax. They are all wrong he is alive and living in Devon.

A stencil I found at a boat launch. Looks like a Sasquatch to me (aka, Big Foot). How about you?

A Night To Remember

Town of Hope in British Columbia Canada

I do not at all personally think for that this image I made and created looks at all to be silly or cartoonish to me. If Bigfoot / Sasquatch does exist, I think he has some distinct human attributes or appearance. But for all intents and purposes. He is pretty ape like and gorilla like to me. In my estimation. There is a whole crazy mix of animal earth DNA that got spawned here. This to me does not look like the famous and the notorious Jacobs creature photo from Pennsylvania for that was only recently shot. I do not care what the skeptics say, that Jacobs Photo is a god damn bear. I am sorry to piss on your parade about that fact. Bigfoot resembles gorilla and ape and chimpanzee and orang-a-tang. A huge DNA cross section of primate that stands on two feet. Perhaps this picture is all midnight blue and appears majestical. But honestly if something like this does exist. I would be crapping my pants in just mere seconds if I encountered something even remotely like this in the woods. I know there are people who firmly support the existence of Bigfoot. And there are skeptics who scoff off and deny the existence of such a thing. Personally I am somewhere in between those two things. I live in Ohio and I have never seen anything unusual like this. But I have gone to the zoo enough times that my imagination can keep an open mind after seeing every imaginable primate there is. Perhaps possibly something very elusive in the wilderness of real flesh and blood may infact exist. But seeing is beleiving after all.
