This was on the beach this morning where we shot, I've seen this done in past years , on other peoples flickr, so I'll have to link up with them.
Two swimmers chat as they paddle along the water. A hungry sea lion cruises the sea, looking for prey. Fortunately, he's heading the other way. It doesn't matter though, because sea lions neither eat nor attack humans.
This reminds me of going kayaking in the marine reserve in La Jolla (just north of San Diego), sitting in the middle of a kelp field and hearing really heavy, deep breathing. It was a sea lion about 4 feet away with its head under a piece of kelp.
