It only rained once on my trip, just after this picture was taken. The storm lasted for a few minutes and then it was over. We walked this beach to the pond where we sighted the flamingos.

This was taken while I was in Santa Cruz helping as a volunteer at a summer Girl Scout camp. The day this was taken I'd accompanied a group of girls on a morning surfing experience. After they finished surfing we went for a walk-around. The morning fog had left the shore but was still hanging high over the water nearby, giving the scene a strange almost unfinished look, with some of the view in color and some of it looking like it was in monochrome!
