Opened in 1907, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is still going strong after more than 100 years. It is one of only three remaining beachfront amusement parks in California (the others being the Santa Monica Pier and San Diego's Belmont Park).

Santa Cruz on a July summer morning. The fog was pulling back from the shore but was still hanging over the ocean close-by, giving the scene the look of an unfinished painting.

A flying kick is performed on the Santa Cruz beach with the setting sun as a backdrop

This was taken while I was in Santa Cruz helping as a volunteer at a summer Girl Scout camp. The day this was taken I'd accompanied a group of girls on a morning surfing experience. After they finished surfing we went for a walk-around. The morning fog couldn't make up its mind where it should be, giving the scene a strange almost unfinished look, with some of the view in color and some of it looking like it was in monochrome!

Take a relaxing walk along West Cliff beach - get your exercise, enjoy nature and unwind after a hard days work. Every day is different - the ocean is never the same

This was on the beach this morning where we shot, I've seen this done in past years , on other peoples flickr, so I'll have to link up with them.
