I always stop at Tesco Litherland for the day's food supplies on my way to our customer at the port. At the self service checkouts the staff mill around talking to themselves in the unmistakable Liverpudlian accent. You know you've arrived on Merseyside.
Outside a Christmas pop-up free sample village is being erected. Hi-Viz jackets, cones, tough boots... elf'n safety is a top priority.
I got these from the scrapstore and they are sample thread cards from the local underwear factory (I think!) Pondering what to do with them!
Auto leases are contracts entered when an individual intends to rent an automobile for a period of time.
This is cropped sample of the not-so-sharp photo from the new lens. Those shots that I got yesterday looked nice...but they aren't sharp. They were also reduced to 4x6. I don't want a lens that's going to force me to resize all of my images or it's useless to me. I want a lens that gives me sharp images straight out of the camera. No resizing required. In comparison to my 90mm/f2.8 macro, which isn't even a Di lens, this is not sharp at all. Small details are lost with this lens, which is the whole point of macro photography.
So after feeling terribly frustrated after my dry run with the new lens, I came home and decided to do some more tests with it. First I cleaned my sensor. Twice. It was so disgustingly dirty. Then I did shot test shots with both the flash and with my studio strobes. And a tripod. Tried various settings. I still got the same results.
I talked to a camera store friend who said that I probably got a soft focus model. It does happen. Of course, with my luck, it would happen to me. So tomorrow I will be going back to the camera store in hopes that they will replace it. And I am not leaving that place until I am satisfied with the results that I see. I was hoping to have this for my Portland trip (on Wednesday!!).
This shot is one of those that I took with the strobes last night. This should be the sharp part of the image, but if you view this full size, you'll see that it is not. *sigh*
