Soil samples are taken from key points on an excavation site. Bits of charred grain, snail shells etc. help environmental specialists build up a picture of the past landscape.
Here washed soil samples are dried in a heated cabinet before being examined under the microscope.

Here are some sample details of some of my new work for an exhibit in Chicago next month. A lot of burlap, a lot of stitchery and of course a lot of painting. I will begin posting full images soon my flickr friends.

The chairs pictured where supplied by a local party retailer contracted by the bride and groom. This color scheme and floral decor truly made for a unique showing.
A natural feel was offered with wooden accessories and take home flower pots. The linnen table sleve was loose woven natural fabric (burlap).

Each day, as she had for the last 9,875,213 days, her assignment was the same, “Tend, protect, and preserve specimen sample 2207.” She had no knowledge of where samples 1 to 2206 were located, or if they even existed. Similarly, she lacked any knowledge of samples 2208 or higher. Her entire databanks were filled with the knowledge needed to care for her sample....
