Have you heard of the One who can calm the raging seas

Give sight to the blind, pull the lame up to their feet

With a love so strong and never let you go

oh you're not alone

You will be safe in His arms

'Cause the hands that hold the world are holding your heart

This is the promise He made

He will be with You always

When everything is falling apart

You will be safe in His arms - Phil Wickham

I made a wish and blew out the candle. Can you guess what I wished for? The cake was delicious!

With their train safely on its way, the Virgin despatchers return to the warmth of their awaiting office. Retford, North Nottinghamshire.

During the summer the stream is our escape from the midday heat.

Image Description from historic lecture booklet: "About ten miles northwest of the Sea of Galilee on a very high hill (2,749 feet) of the ancient province of Galilee, is situated the city of Safed, which is thought by some to be the city referred to by Jesus in His sermon on the mount (Matt 5:14).

You remember the words of our Lord to his disciples in the Sermon on the Mount? "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid." He may have pointed to this very hill and this very city, now known as Safed, in northern Galilee. Although no place having this location is named in the Bible, it is probable that in Christ's day, a city was standing on this hill, for in the New Testament period, this land was densely populated. Safed stands as a landmark, seen in every direction, and well illustrated the words of Jesus regarding the prominence of his disciples in the world."

More cows than humans

this is my house. i took this not long after we moved in, about seven years ago. it's not a very big house, but it's old and it's quirky and i love it. i'd only ever lived in apartments (including growing up), so to me, this was like moving into the ritz carlton. the notion that all four walls belonged to me, that i could step outside onto the grass and know that whatever was under my feet belonged to me (insofar as we fleeting humans own anything in this world) -- seven years later, this still blows me away.

and as i look at this picture now, sitting in the office upstairs in the back of this same house, with a cat sleeping next to me and the birds at the feeders out back twittering in the early morning light, i feel home. i feel safe.

Thought I'd upload a few more of my favourite portraits of people who have touched our lives this year.

I was worried that the cupboard would narrow down the space too much but it kinda worked OK.

You'll notice our demountable bottle windows are still working well whenever we need some wind and rain protection in the kitchen.

Blow it up big to read the texts.

We opened this one whilst the owner was in handcuffs.

These pics were taken a few days later but by the time I made this discovery it was pouring with rain again. It seems that the pipe under the road that carries the stream bordering our land had become blocked. This caused the level to rise to such an extent that it started to flow over the top of the road with such ferocity that it completely destroyed this 15-20m section of our boundary fence.

Working breakfast - Camp Full Monte style.

They called the landy Boris, after the Mayor of London, on account of it being blue with a blonde top and somewhat unpredicatable.

To this day I still don't know how we managed to add in Emma, young son and even more stuff and still make it to Split. It was cosy to say the least.

Things got truly comic when we met up with Den. Dumped all their stuff on the quayside and waved goodbye as they waited for their ferry.

We enjoy a glut of most Citrus fruits as they come into season over the Christmas period. Typical English breakfast marmalade isn't a winner with the locals and you just can't buy it in the shops. So we make our own.

Up in time to watch Hamilton win the Monaco Grand prix. Looking pretty good all things considered.

I don't want expensive gifts; I don't want to be bought. I have everything I want. I just want someone to be there for me, to make me feel safe and secure.
