1st January 2009 is a date that we will not forget in a hurry. Steve and I agreed to dog and house sit for our friend Danny. So after helping with the New Year's Eve party aftermath, we packed up the car (20 year old, beat-up Fiesta with local plates that I drive everywhere) and van to set off round the Bay to Dobrota. As I was about to drive off Steve noticed a nail in the tyre of the Fiesta. Grumbling about having to re-pack the car in the rain (by now it was chucking it down) we got all the stuff shifted and I set off in my Peugeot, leaving Steve to lock up. I was ambling along the coast road half way round the Bay when suddenly I lost control of the car. It span around and landed on its side in the ditch. I couldn't get out of the car but within minutes a couple of locals stopped and helped me out and a kind lady (from our local DIY store, as it turns out!) ushered me into her dry, warm car. Steve was amazed I was Ok when he saw the Peugeot and thankful for the earlier tyre puncture because if I'd have been in the aged Fiesta the story could have had a very different ending...
My Guardian Angel was definitely with me... out of a car full of food, the only sign of damage was 2 broken eggs and a dent in a coffee tin. The printer and scanner which was on the back seat and seemed to be in a very dodgy state surrounded by small bits of broken plastic, works perfectly. And once the car was lifted by crane from the ditch (thanks to a passing driver who stopped to help, spoke perfect English and phoned his mate with the kit we needed to get it out without damaging it), it was - unbelievably - still driveable!!!! Our friends, as usual, were amazing - big thanks to Matt, Mil, Amy & Grace.
And before you blokes start chuntering on about female drivers, it turns out there had been several accidents in the very same spot earlier that day and I had probably hit some oil left over from that. Let's hope I haven't used up all my luck and 9 lives so early in '09!
Things are starting to get exciting now as the builders begin marking out the shower block foundations.
I remember in the middle of the ceremony she cried knowing her dad was on stage giving a speech. I assumed she missed him and want his full attention. The mother had taken her out of the room to prevent further distractions.
The second time father went on the stage he brought her along. She sat and cling tight. I thought, she was as safe as being on the home front.
She was a very cute child. I'd want my children to be as cute as her. Her crying was subtle and her voice was peachy. At the end of the speech, she announced goodnight on the mic. Everyone was left in "aw". Hey....what could anyone say, she was just too adorable.

While I don't think this is as 'tidy' as previous pieces, I've enjoyed putting this together.
The most important component for me was the mood - so the clouds and light beams were key.
Anyway, I hope you can appreciate this to some level :) The original tutorial can be found www.photoshoptutorials.ws/photoshop-tutorials/photo-manip...
Lobster boats tied up on a Saturday in January. The sea is beginning to ice over after some cold weather.
Happy Blue Monday!
I used it recently a few times much smaller, you may wonder what was it that covered "bits and pieces" on NASA nude plaque... www.flickr.com/photos/40948353@N06/7311715980
