Lord Krishna is the hero of the great Indian epic,"The Mahabharata".In the incarnation of the Lord as Krishna, he was brought up as an unknown cowherd though born in a royal family because of prevailing circumstances.He used to play the flute which encharmed the herds of cattle as well as humans. He did many miracles and pranks as a child .
He became king later and He worked for peace between two royal clans .
The holy "Bhagavad Gita", containing the Lord's admonitions to Arjuna in the battle-ground is an allegorical depiction capable of bringing peace and clarity to a confused mind filled with turmoil and is a beacon-light for the Hindus.
The Tamil poet Bharati says "Engiruntho vandaan, idai saathi nan endraan,"meaning the Lord came from a place unknown and revealed himself as a simple cowherd.How blessed are we to have had Him here!
The Lord says in the "Bhagavad Gita":"Whenever and wherever the 'dharma' (moral codes) are violated, i will be born again as an 'avatar' to drive away the chaos and establish peace and to protect the good and vanquish the evil"
