With apologies to the BeeGees...

We were at a craft market in Muskoka this weekend and a local beekeeper brought along a hive to create a 'buzz' for his honey sales.

Something was spilled on our patio and before long, a plague worthy number of ants were on the clean up crew. The was an invisible coordination going on amongst the seeming chaos of the situation.

Hooker Lake, New Zealand, September 2017

The most bizarre things wash ashore on the beaches of Lake Ontario. Even more bizarre is what people do with them.

This little elephant appears to be a Hindu icon, but the weathering and corrosion would indicate that it has been in the water for some time.

On a red-eye flight from Honolulu to Los Angeles, I woke up at just the right time to capture the morning light peeking over the horizon. I had a great window seat over the left wing, and the cowling of the engine provides an interesting detail in this shot.

Since it was taken through a dirty window with my phone camera, some clean up was done in Luminar2018.

This carving has been in our house since I was a small child. I don't know how it became part of the family, but it's been around as long as I remember. There was a companion carving that disappeared somewhere.

It's in my house now and caught my eye when I saw the shadow cast by the window blinds and the carving.

Some tonal tweaking and cropping in Luminar3.

Sometimes your eye is attracted to a whimsical moment in time, where the light hits familiar things in a way that creates its own art... which will soon disappear in the passing of time.

Took some pictures of our Audi S8 plus in Denmark.

Most of my shots are unstaged. They capture the moments as I see them. In this case, two fallen leaves have nestled together on the rocky shoreline of Lake Ontario.

This was the view out of the window at sunrise this morning. The California coastal mountain range was peeking up above the clouds. The scene was surreal, and short lived.

A new phone comes with a new camera. Another test shot from my Samsung Galaxy S8+. (Tweaked in Lightroom)

My trusty Samsung Note5 phone suddenly became less reliable recently. Since I have to be available at all times, I had to replace the phone. If you follow my feed, you will see that nearly half of the photos I post are from the Note5, since that was the only camera I had handy. My new phone is a Samsung Galaxy S8+, and the specs say it has a better camera. Here is a shot I took today... so far, so good.

There is a delightful trail around the western edge of Lake Ontario that makes for a great way to spend time walking, biking, or roller blading. It is paved and mostly flat, which is why I say it's delightful.

This is a shot from my phone camera when we were taking a bit of a water break in the shade. The shadows caught my attention.

At this time of year, the vibrant greens of the foliage starts to dull, so this new growth of fern fronds stood out in contrast.

The picnic gazebo at Coronation Park in Oakville, Ontario is quiet now, but still a good place for the hearty walker and photographer to get a good view of the lake.

The interesting part was that the bicycle was not mine. It was someone else's. I took it and placed it wherever I liked and he had his eyes on me.

However, I and my friend Mezba use to roam around our town whenever we get any chance. In the afternoon, we went to housing project and made this photographic work.

This was an experiment with Google's fun new ability to see a menagerie of animals in 3D in your own space via Augmented Reality) On your phone, use Google to search for Pug, or Tiger, and you should have the option to view a life-sized 3D model.

This is the pug, who I placed in my living room. I was impressed at how Google adjusted the lighting on the little dog to account for the backlight from the window. I brought it into Luminar to edit to play with lighting and shadows a bit, and converted to monochrome.

How long before we can do wildlife photography from the comfort of our living room? But then, there would be no adventure.

I have a tradition of capturing the first vestige of colour in our garden. It's usually the croci, or crocuses, that show up first.

Taken with my phone camera and lightly edited in Luminar3.

There are large piles of leaves on the road sides of Oakville this time of year. Rather than bagging them, the town comes around and picks them up with a big vacuum truck.

They have a wonderful texture, so I couldn't help sticking my phone camera into the pile and taking a couple of shots.

Sometimes, it just pays to have a camera handy.

The variety of plants growing in a marsh is remarkable, and are delightfully beautiful at all stages of their growth.

The light during my walk through the marsh, was perfect for the sensor on my phone's camera.

Played with the tones to bring out the delicate detail in Luminar3.1

A shot of the creek where I paused on the way home yesterday. This is very typical for Muskoka, Ontario (2 hours drive North of Toronto).

Taken with my phone camera, and light tweaking in LU18.

The tulips in our garden were in full splendor this weekend. The symmetry of this bunch captured my attention.

Taken with my phone camera and edited in Luminar3.1. I actually reduced the colour saturation since the vibrant red was too much.

Another in the series of shots from my new phone. The camera was well reviewed and my experience is showing they were accurate.

I grew up in the land of rocks and lakes. I was up in Muskoka, Ontario yesterday and on the drive back, stopped at a picnic area to get some 'Vitamin N' (N is for Nature). I loved how the reflection in the pool of water somehow plays a trick with your mind... Am I standing on a ledge? Which end is up? Where did he get those funky sandals?

Taken with my phone's camera, and tonally tweaked in LU18 and LR.
