Rye Harbour is a picturesque village and moorings near the Kent and Sussex border. The unique and interesting harbour, which runs along the river Rother offers much to the visitor. It has a busy yachting centre, a fishing fleet and some commercial shipping. The village has a lifeboat station with a long and noble history, two public houses and a village shop.

Rye Castle, also known as Ypres Tower, was built in 1249, and is situated in Rye, East Sussex, England. It was Henry III who gave permission for the castle to be built as part of the defense against the frequent raids by the French. At the time, the coast was under constant threat from the French, who were warring with England.

Five shot panorama taken from the top of the church tower.

Rye is so nice, it's just so compact.

Rye Harbour.

As we walked around the town we encountered one of Rye's river - this is the River Brede. I watched Tim and JJ walk past that dog with Lina, and it was very friendly! It could get far as it was attached to a chain!

(In the distance you can see the chip shop we visit on our last evening - it says "fh"!!)
