I waited for what seemed like hours in this spot for the ripples on the water to flatten out, and my patience paid off.....and this spot at the East end of the lake was the only part which was like mirror...the rest of the lake stayed full of ripples....love it when it all comes together like that!!
A boathouse on Rydal Water with a breeze blowing across the lake and some autumnal colours adding a backdrop.
Last Saturday we paid a visited to Rydal water in the Lake District, the weather was cold but clear and the light was wonderful with pockets of sun shining on the fells. It is amazing how the weather can change in the Lake District, only a couple of weeks ago large parts of it were flooded which some people are still suffering the after effects of now.

Another shot from the Lakes. This was taken at sunrise on a nice calm Autumn morning. Well I say that but by the time I got back to the car I was the wettest I've ever been in the Lakes! It was a case of putting everything on and around the radiator when I got back, lol.
It's a view recognised by many but it was a pleasure just to be there.
For anyone who hasn't been before, don't park in White Moss car park, it's a trek, just park up at the side of the road!
Finally got around to editing a full stitched panorama of this amazing hole in the hillside above Rydal water.
I always park here when visiting Rydal, there is an honesty box on the gate to give a contribution to the church for parking. Such a beautiful Church, and then a short walk over to Rydal for an hour or so, great location

The Lone Tree of Rydal...
A beautiful morning with subtle mist around and pink sky made this pastel image of the tree for me. I opted for a square crop as I thought it suited the overall feel of the image as well.
Mornings like this have a great calming effect too!
Garden of Light - Rydal Hall Gardens, Lake District, Cumbria.
Had great fun doing this running round in the middle of the night hoping no one would spot us. Have always loved the symetry of this french inspired formal garden and thought it would make a perfect light up job. Thanks for looking.
Reflection of the Rydal lone tree, not long after sunrise on a very misty morning.
