This was right on the main street, and the bench looked like an inviting place to sit in the sunshine and watch the world go by.

This was a photo I took in Ola, Idaho back in July. Since it is a rainy day I decided to play a little with some old photos, and I tonemapped this one with Photmatix and adjusted some in Photoshop.

I love rust. and rust under green paint? ooooo!

Acrylic on rusted metal 15" x 19", painted version of my vector illustration. The rusty crusty canvas was rescued from an old rusty green furnace.

Maricelis has screened wheat landraces from the USDA collection for stem rust resistance at the International screening nursery at Njoro Kenya for the past two years in order to identify new sources of resistance to the “Ug99” race and its variants.

This rather pleasing piece of ironwork is to be found on the padlocked door leading to the crypt at the Villa Cimbrone. There is of course an adjacent route to the crypt next to this door.

This is the side of a street overpass bridge. The bridge also had netting on the underside to keep chunks of it from dropping onto cars and people. There are thousands of these old bridges around the country, part of the "infrastructure problem" brought to our attention by the bridge collapse in Minnesota.

Rusty metal at Shoreham.

Voor deze opdracht moest ik foto's maken voor het thema 'Thuis'. Toen ik hier over nadacht kwam ik er achter dat thuis voor mij geen materiele dingen zijn. Het zijn gevoelens zoals warmte en veiligheid. Maar hoe kon ik dit fotograferen? Ik heb gekozen om elke foto op dezelfde neutrale plek te maken.

Elke foto geeft een gevoel weer. Omdat thuis ook negatieve kanten kan hebben, heb ik alles in zwart/wit gefotografeerd. Het geeft de foto's een treurige uitstraling maar geeft het daardoor, naar mijn mening, ook meer kracht.

Ik heb 1 foto zonder bordje gemaakt. Met deze foto, waar ik met mijn paspoort opsta, wil ik aangeven dat 'thuis' niet plaatsgebonden is voor mij. Ik kan overal in de wereld een thuis hebben of vinden zolang de gevoelens die bij een thuis horen er zijn.
