Another shot from yesterday, looking for Rust

Tubac Presidio State Park, Tubac, Arizona

something to do with farming....

Sometimes train chases lead to some very interesting 'other' finds. Given other indications in the immediate area, this section of rail was likely used as part of the road crossing and was subsequently replaced by better and heavier rail. Rusted well with a chunk missing. Part of the Atlantic and Yadkin, now Atlantic and Western

I guess an old rusty car is like a cancer victim. Unattended the body is OK but the rust keeps eating it away until it is no longer its former self and not able able to hit the road and get out and enjoy life again. Then one day somebody says "what a waste...that can be restored, all you gotta do is kill the rust and start over again"

Cut to the chase.....my Big C is in remission, hopefully a stem cell transplant will be the restoration....and the road never looked so good again.

thanks everybody for listening and CARING....merc

During my drive through some back roads of Iowa, I came across a collection of rusted farm equipment.

It was interesting to walk among them.

This old grain elevator sits near the intersection of IL. routes 34 and 40 between Buda and Manlius,IL.I remember driving by this all my life,my dad bought some feed from this place probably 30 years ago.Things were much simpler then which can be witnessed by its modern counterpart, built just a short distance away along the highway. This has so much more character though!

- a visit to the farm across the road from my house.

While out on a job I undertook a cursory explore of the ruin of the Church of St.Mary Fleggburgh, turns out the ruin of this long abandoned harvesting machine which I discovered are photogenic in their own way.

Last weekend, Ken & I bought a beautiful little metal gazebo- rusted and perfect for SO many of my tiny spots here- it's not big at all - 6 ft. wide. But here it sits, still on the truck! Not as easy as I thought, with only two of us to manage getting it off there! The leg columns are lying down in the bottom of the truck bed. :)

This is not "new" new, but new to me! I hope that counts! :)
