Mono and screen printing on cotton fabric using natural Indigo and gum tragacanth. The fabric was then rust dyed using old farm machinery parts.
The ZB tank is undergoing electrolytic rust removal. An electrode has been lowered into a solution of sodium carbonate (washing soda) and water. A current is then run through the electrode and the tank and the rust flakes off leaving clean metal behind.
Took the dogs for a walk around the edge of the lake today. Came across this rusting wreck near Mullet Creek. They were so proud of their handiwork that they stuck the flag in the mud near one of the wheels.
I'm not such a proud Australian to see how some of our fellow aussies treat our environment!
Barge bottoms (Forgive my ignorance, I'm sure there is a name for them) that seem to be abandoned in Castlefield.
They seem to be brothers of some sort.
Rusted cannons from hundreds of year past laying in the surf along the shores of Carlisle Bay. There were at least a dozen visible at low tide, which leads me to ask how many more are buried in the sand: Photograph taken in Bridgetown, Barbados: February 16, 2011
