This is near the Cliff House Inn in Ventura. An island off highway 1 (I believe man-made) is attached to the mainland by a bridge. I was hoping to get on the island and take pictures but it is heavily guarded. This is an old rusting keypad entry. Now it's secured by a chain link fence and barbwire.
A few signs of Fall caught in one of our side fences! :) You can see mostly green beyond, though! Perfect humidity and temps just now and not the sweltering we are accustomed to! :)
Everyone has to go through some rusty period in some point of time in their life..however stronger or sharper they may be in their earlier life everybody is destined to face some rusty phase.(Even if they are self proclaimed "stainless"!!!)

The gate at former Emperor Haile Selassie's once splendid winter residence • Massawa, Eritrea
Former Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie's Imperial Palace (winter residence) in Massawa (formerly Ethiopia, now Eritrea) was attacked in 1990 by the Soviet-backed DERG government of Mengistu Haile Mariam during the Ethiopian-Eritrean war (after Massawa had been captured by units of the Eritrean People's Liberation Front earlier that year). The palace was heavily damaged during the attack, and since Eritrea's independence to this day the structure has been
basically abandoned.
It seems everyone has stainless steel appliances and some type of granite these days. So how do you make your kitchen stand out amongst the masses? Why you install a truly unique backsplash made out of rusted thick gauge steel, of course. I cut them to size, grind off any sharp edges and then I hand them over to Mother Nature to let her do her thing. A little rain creates a beautifully one-of-a-kind finish of streaks and splotches of different shades of rust. I then clear coat them so they feel nice to the touch and stop rusting. Next thing you know, the Jones’ are trying to keep up with you!

The Northwest Railway Museum's Baldwin 1898 4-6-0 rusting on a siding outside Snoqualmie, Washington.
I was trekking through the small town of Livingston Texas with a friend when we happened to see this rusted truck along the road side. The truck was just begging for us to stop and photograph it! Unfortunately, I couldn't find any identifying marks that would give me a clue as to the make/model of this unique looking truck.
