Rust day 11

365 days in colour

Today has been real November weather again but warm with the foggy dreariness. These holly berries brighten up today's rust picture.

I feel like the dream is still there, but it's not so shiny and obtainable anymore. I don't know if this is part of growing older or if this is just stress of all the b/s that happens in a life coming together to fuck with me.

Still a neat picture, though.

This old rattletrap must be the pride of Elkhart County, Indiana. I can't even begin to guess the make and model.

This Sculpture is 'Rust Drawing' the title of the Exhibition

I've photographed this little complex on prior trips, but couldn't pass up the opportunity for another take on my recent trip down US Hwy. 59. These little metal complexes with all the additions speak to me. I suspect that this one is no longer in operation in the small Franklin County town of Princeton with a population of about 275.

This property is essentially a living roadside museum — the vehicles aren’t just rusty relics, they’re reminders of the Fraser Valley’s farming backbone. Each grille and wheel carries the story of how food was grown, hauled, and communities connected in the mid‑20th century.

Era & Make: These trucks hail from the mid‑20th century — rugged workhorses built by Ford, International Harvester, Fargo, and other makers that served farms, logging roads, and small towns across the Fraser Valley.

• Condition: Rusted panels, faded paint, and weathered steel tell of decades of use, now softened by time and grass reclaiming the wheels.

• Setting: Parked together in Pitt Meadows, against barns and winter trees, they feel like a roadside museum — a display of history in plain sight.

• Story: Each truck carries echoes of harvests, hauls, and journeys through valley roads. Now they stand as relics, reminders of the region’s agricultural backbone.

Brutal Rust has a product that creates a real rust surface from a special paint and activator. In this case, the pipes are actually PVC pipes painted with the stuff. Most of the other surfaces are also painted with Brutal Rust.

I spotted this car while driving a Scioto County, Ohio road. I don't recognize the make or year.
