A bad day. The train from Crewe to London was late leaving for lack of a driver. We then got stuck near Wembley because of a power failure to the signal boxes in the area.We evenually got to London one and a half hours late. On the way back home, I got stuck in this. Oh, England! ;-)

I'm sittin' in the railway station

Got a ticket to my destination

On a tour of one-night stands

My suitcase and guitar in hand

And every stop is neatly planned

For a poet and a one-man band

Homeward bound

I wish I was

Homeward bound

Home where my thought's escapin'

Home where my music's playin'

Home where my love lies waitin'

Silently for me

Every day's an endless stream

Of cigarettes and magazines

And each town looks the same to me

The movies and the factories

And every stranger's face I see

Reminds me that I long to be

Homeward bound

I wish I was

Homeward bound

Tonight I'll sing my songs again

I'll play the game and pretend

But all my words come back to me

In shades of mediocrity

Like emptiness in harmony

I need someone to comfort me

Homeward bound

I wish I was

Homeward bound

Here’s my take for this Flckr Friday theme; you can find as many parallels here as you want! You name it, lanes, cars, bridge rails, light posts, buildings, traffic signs, fence, trees....

It’s been a very busy winter/spring for me and I missed going out to take photos. Shall the summer begin with no mask outdoors. God bless scientists and vaccines!! Enjoy your day friends, thank you for your visit.

A number of you have asked how I got to this vantage point. Well, I had to jump the fence and balance on the beam ;-) NOT! Actually, around each tower there is an observation platform which extends over the lanes of traffic. Nothing extreme here, just out on the well fenced platform.

Captured this with three RAW shots (-2..0..+2). Digital blending in Photoshop CS6. I increased the overall saturation with Hue/Saturation in Photoshop. Curve adjustment to increase the overall contrast. 1 layer mask in soft light mode at 50% gray, using brush tool to lighten and darken some areas of the image, to bring out details. Topaz DeNoise to reduce noise. Topaz Clarity for additional boost in color and contrast.

I actually wanted to take the photo at 10mm, but unfortunately I didn't notice the setting the camera was using in APS-C mode.

In retrospect, maybe not so bad

How do you make the rush hour in Phoenix better? Add a little pink tint!

Facing west, between Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue, rush hour traffic at 5:38 P.M., more than an hour after the early winter sunset at 4:19. New York City -- December 18, 2021

Are you up for a ride? Well, if you are, join one of the incredible tours on the river or at the like organized by the @shorelinesightseeing. Last night we had another memorable and private #ShorelineBoatTour hosted by their wonderful team. Whether Gods smiled on us too. Which crop do you like better?

Mind blown, New York, in all aspects from the glitzy to the gritty was a cultural festival of life and attitude, a hard knock attitude that can only be accepted or you fall and never get up. A city made for the camera and a people made to put you in your place, a city of pro's and con's, avenues and streets, moods and reflection, but a city that should be on your bucket list, and should be visited, if only once, if only to say Iv'e been to New York.

On the radio or yet the USB music stick on the drive home, 5:00PM CST in Northeast Oklahoma it is Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville where it is 5PM all the time.

In Vietnam, bikes, motorbikes and scooters are the way most get out and about, rain or shine. It was interesting to see many of the bikers had special raincoats that covered both themselves and their bikes.
