I love taking the back roads. You will find beauty in the simple things that people tend to overlook. Took this with my iPhone and edited with CS3.
A scene from a hundred years ago, Przewalskii's horses running free on the steppes again in Hustai National Park. After disappearing from the wild in the 1960s, this rare wild hose was reintroduced to the wild in 1992 and subsequently, following breeding from a few captive individuals descended from wild animals captured around 1900.
The world falls away behind him—blurred, distant, irrelevant. All that matters is the run, the rhythm of his breath, the pulse in his legs, the weight of the moment. He charges forward, not for glory, but for the thrill of chasing it. Mud clings to him like battle scars, light cuts across his path like fate itself, and time seems to hold its breath. This is the heartbeat of youth. The spirit of sport. This is a story caught in motion.
“Fan the inner flame that shows us
More and more of our true home
Revealed in our children
To embrace each as our own
There is no race or color
That separates the soul
For we are all a family
And in unity are whole
There is no one religion
That can claim authority
All true Masters love each other
And continue within me
No more hate and no more hunger.
No more weapons of despair.
No more “I” and “mine” takes over
Or is spoken anywhere
Every child who lives among us
Has the right to run their course
To behold the flame within them
And to know its very Source”
Ganga Fondan, 2009
Children are such a target for all the anxious ways that we have not grasped who we are in relation to the Universe. This posting is dedicated to the Vision that we may discover clearer pathways for ourselves and thus enable our children to be powerful leaders to carry on regeneration of the world. It is meant to depict that we do not carry the light but are made from the light itself The following awe-inspiring quote is the source of the passion of this posting tonight:
"You are the spark of the blaze and the spark has all the power of the blaze to create the same blaze." - Tulshi Sen, "Ancient Secrets of Success for Today's World"

My son running down the path towards the river. He wanted to race me. I think he won.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
Poem, High Flight, by Pilot Officer Gillespie Magee

Today I set JR free from his pain to join his sisters Joy and Tess, and brother Saker, and his dear friends Dallas and Dinah, over the Rainbow Bridge.
He did very well up until last night. The cancer was in his lungs and he began to have severe difficulty breathing. I held him through the night and told him he would be all right. This morning, I let him go.
It's a sad day, yet I am happy that he is not suffering any more.
JR was a wonderful dog and excellent ambassador for the breed. He had lovely conformation and temperament, and an ever wagging tail. He also had his own, unique hairstyle which will forever be known in flatcoat history as "The JR". :)
JR did end his show career with several highlights last year, including placements at the 2005 Canadian National Specialty in Thunder Bay. Over Labor Day weekend our local kennel club offered a Best Veteran in Breed class, which he also won. I am proud of my boy.
JR - my love - I will miss you so.

“Now the great winds shoreward blow,
Now the salt tides seaward flow;
Now the wild white horses play,
Champ and chafe and toss in the spray.”
Matthew Arnold
I met this horse during my travels in NE Washington last spring, when I went looking for Loons, and just came across this photo. Never been much of a white horse person, always preferring black like my horse was, but it seems that my tastes have changed or expanded into creatures of beauty.
Tumultuous weather down this way. Went from way hot, 86 to cool and windy. The wind has been my least favorite part about being down here and then today I heard that more people in this area die prematurely because of poor air quality - well, more towards LA of course, but when the winds are blowing it is bad here also. Not really much to say, kind of chill and quiet right now.

These "Badland's" are home to two hundred horses in the winter months...They belong to Claude Miller from Winthrup, Washington. He leases 350 of them to the Boy Scouts of America for summer programs in Winthrup. It is quite a scene to see this many horses running free...

Is anything happier than a country dog? Little did I know it, but while I was happily snapping away at this dog, his sneaky companion had leaped into my open car and was settling gleefully into my seat, where he greeted me upon my return with thumping tail and lolling tongue.Don't you hate it when you are tricked by dogs?

A thoroughbred horse gallops over grassy, wildflower covered hills in the morning light. It has a chestnut colored coat with three white socks and a white star and narrow stripe on its head. Its brown mane and tail flutter in the wind as it runs.
Behind the powerful animal, the sun is rising and the dawn light illuminates the clouds as well as creates a rim outlining the horse.
Thanks for looking,
Daniel

She runs like she means it — not just for the try line, but for every girl who ever dreamed of charging down a field, cleats tearing through limits, and eyes fixed on something greater. The defender dives, desperate, but her stride is a sentence that won’t be interrupted. This isn’t just a game. It’s a statement. A moment where youth, courage, and athletic grace collide in full flight — unstoppable, undeniable, unforgettable.
Adventures with a Shiny D90 - Part 1
I had a lovely Nikon D90 for Christmas (I have been a VERY good girl) ... and I love it! ... but have only had two days since Christmas that I haven't been either working or sleeping ... so here are my first few efforts ...
