This was her most favourite place to be on Black Rock Sands beach running free and padding and swimming in the sea.
I took her there with her sister Cali every day.
The excitement in her eyes when the car approached the beach was beyond words.
Miss you so much Mili.
The love I had off you was so special 💔
The sun had already set before I left work tonight but there was still some nice colour in the sky as I floated down Congleton Lane, close to Cloud 9, happiness in my heart! Through the roadside hawthorne hedge I suddenly spotted a horse grazing against an orange sky. I quickly parked in a ditch and then pushed my way through the hawthorne hedge gaining several puncture wounds to head, shoulders and forearms. My unstealthy approach presumably alarmed the horses beyond and they suddenly took off in an excited sprint to the far end of the paddock. I had no time to adjust to the low light and change my settings, panning with their movement. I was happy to get just one shot capturing the horses running free. I love seeing them like this.

There appeared to be a runaway hiding in the park when I went for a walk, of course he thought he was well hidden behind the tree as he watched me pass by, I guess he had not looked in a mirror to see his flaming red comb against the green grass was not cammo.
I was walking by an antique shop on Sunset Blvd. when I saw these beautiful old wooden merry-go-round horses - probably from the 1930's or 40's. They looked so alive and real, to me, that I decided to photograph them from this angle. I think it makes them appear as though they're running wild and free, in a stampede.
I will be off flickr for a while as I have friends visiting, back soon.
Thanks for all your wonderful comments and faves.

.... Is how it should be!!!! This is Ruby the Lurcher. She has been rehomed and rescued recently by a lovely couple we met out on one of our walks this week. she just ran and ran and ran so happy and free. All the other dogs including my 2 puggies were TRYING to chase her haha..... not a chance and I was getting dizzy trying to get a photo of her grace and speed. Ruby is such a happy girl now and enjoying life!

We visited Cades Cove in Gatlinburg yesterday. What a day to go! The deer were abundant. If we saw one we saw a hundred. By the time we left I was tired of taking photos of deer. But, this was my favorite of the day. These are not wild horses, but it was feeding time on one of the only working farms in the Cove and these horses knew it. They were running to the next field to get dinner. I love the way they were running in formation. They ran like this the whole way too.
We didn't see many horses last time we went up to the horse range but I did get this nice shot of Chief through the trees

We've been enjoying some time with family over the past week. It's not something we're able to do often because of distance between us. To break up the long driving time, we rented a cabin for a couple of days near Algonquin Park and on the first morning, woke up to very chilly temperatures, blue skies, and a fresh snowfall. It was a gorgeous winter's day. Perfect for giving Littles their freedom to run as they pleased on deserted roads, look for wildlife, and tell tale tracks in the snow.
We had a good time this morning, the rain held off which was an added bonus.
Like most sight hounds this boy can shift, a joy to watch.

Lacie, our rescue dog doesn't know which way to look - there are squirrels 'chattering' to her from all directions.
She is one happy pup, running free on the beach and hopping between driftwood logs. So much to smell and explore!
Chasing light, laughter, and waves before the sun dipped out.

The rider jumped off this beautiful animal to wrangle a cow at the Arcadia Rodeo. The horse kept running.
A dozen of street dogs flashed before my eyes and lens just once early in the morning. Following the alpha dog barking and running free just like kids playing... Burst Firing, got about 8 pictures from the gang, 3 backlight frames like this one.

This is just one more picture from the same burst. I like them all because all are similar but different.
Week 2 in 52 Weeks for Dogs and this wasn't what I had in mind when I put the wide angle lens on before we went out to try and get a photo for this week. But Taivas ran down the slope to see Mary and when she turned and came racing back I quickly took a shot. I love this wide view of the forest and the song 'On a clear day you can see forever' came straight to my mind.
I had to straighten it, crop out some of the foreground and make some minor adjustments to bring out details in Taivas' face.

On a clear day
Rise and look around you
And you'll see who you are
On a clear day
How it will astound you
That the glow of your being
Outshines every star
You'll feel part of every mountain, sea and shore
You can hear
From far and near
A word you've never, never heard before...
And on a clear day...On a clear day...
You can see forever...
And ever...
And ever...
And ever more. . .

In the thick of chaos and under the cold glow of night lights, one player finds the seam and bursts through with a spark of courage and instinct. Teammates scatter, defenders collapse, but this is his moment — legs churning, eyes forward, and the weight of opportunity rushing alongside him. This is rugby at its most cinematic, where drama unfolds in motion and courage is captured frame by frame.
Blueberry and Jasmine had so much fun playing the grass. Jasmine and Chauncey would run through it, although Chauncey spent most of her time under it, hunting for whatever might have been hiding from her. Blueberry thought trying to leap over it was the best. I have many blurry photos of her trying to fly over it.
